When is Porsche going back to Le Mans? That is the question.

Oh come-on... they are just trying to be "bloggish" funny... but they are German, historically Germans don't have the bests ense of humor.

Further snide comment would be redundant. It IS good marketing. I suppose I never thought Porsche vehicles to NEED this sort of thing before, however.

@DoctorNine makes tires squeal in terror: For a long time, they didn't. Why waste money on marketing when you could throw that same money to engineering and have them, say, turbocharge the 917 and make a kickass Can-Am car? Back in the day, kickass racing cars were all the PR companies like Porsche needed.

This aging marketer would like to point out that Mercedes did this schtick with the M-Class launch back in like 1996. I'm sure this crap will get a One Show Honorable Mention, though.

FWIW, I think seeing the photos of this vehicle in person would actually blind or kill the viewer, so perhaps murder is warranted.

Stud Beefpile's feelings are hurt by that.

"This just in, ladies and gentlemen! With the pending release of the new Porsche Panamera, the stakes have been raised somewhat in the ongoing Porsche-Nissan rivalry. Nissan has summoned us here to the DatsunDojo for a press conference. We had high hopes that this would entail some new model release, or another update to the GT-R. No such luck, however.

Nissan officials here gave us a twenty-minute presentation regarding the Panamera, and pointed out that Nissan and Infiniti have, in fact, been making sedans for quite a while now. (Not that anyone's ever bought one, aside from drug dealers in Los Angeles.) They showed us the Panamera, and explained in graphic detail how it was designed to look like a giant pile of poo. They then showed us the Infiniti, and explained how it was not designed to look like a giant pile of poo.

We're not entirely sure we agree, but we can at least agree with them on the Porsche.

And yes, that seems to be all they wanted to tell us: 'Here at Nissan, we build cars too.'

Reporting live from the DatsunDojo, I'm Stud Beefpile."

Actually I think you have this in reverse, they have a higher regard for the media as they are willing to do the ultimate crime for something.

BTW notice how I used the correct verb with media? Next time you listen to the pundits check out how they NEVER use the right plural verb for media.

@jduffy13: Hahaha. Same deal with data...because most people probably don't think "datum" and "medium" are even correct word usage.
