So by the 2015 model year, don't be surprised if you see a big increase in diesel engine availability in cars.

Seems to me that they're probably already there, or damn close to it.

*slap* Sorry, where was I? And why do I suddenly feel like going on a "fact-finding" trip to Jamaica?

Don't say Baja. And for Honda don't anybody freakin say Ridgeline. That isn't a truck. It's a tall car for poseurs.
Beating the 27mpg standard for light trucks should be no trouble. Anytime I can't squeeze at least 27 out of my truck, I wonder what's wrong.

Hate CAFE all you want and I won't argue, but in my experience, engineers, designers, and bean counters respond best to unrealistic constraints, not unlimited freedom.

I guess a Taurus is going to be a truck now, right? Because it's nearly as truckish as an HHR. Which, incidentally, is that new truck-based Cobalt.
Wait, no it isn't.

*me, of course, being a Canadian, will more than likely see his Canadian government fold faster that Superman on Laundry day once this reform comes a rollin' around these here northern parts.

If only our lawmakers hadn't already screwed us out of those.
So maybe things will change and I can add that to my prediction list: #4--Diesel standards are relaxed and fuel subsidies help to lower the price of the fuel, easing pump paing for both consumers and long-distance cargo carriers (the backbone of the economy).
Pipe dreams. Now I have to leave the thread before my blood boils any more.

F*ck this is not the change we all intended to head for. If this is going to be the case we are all going to be driving priuses and driving a lifted f-350 is going to be a crime punishable by jailtime

I'll stick to my alternative modes of transport, which are fuel efficient enough for me.

Keep in mind while there's a place for trucks, gas isn't going to stay cheap forever and many who buy trucks now don't "need" a truck and would be better off looking at a car with better mileage.
The financial situation of those who contuned making large trucks and SUVs prove that they need to start making changes or die off regardless.
