    When I first glanced at the headline for this thread, I misread it as: "The Shroud of Mimi", and wondered what the hell an obnoxious character from the Drew Carey Show was possibly doing being referenced on Jalopnik.

    Difficult to know how to top the launch of the first A8 in all its polished alloy loveliness.

    Maybe this time they could make every panel on a launch car from perspex, offering a clear view through the car?

    No, scratch that, Ice. Make every panel from ice and have a functioning engine made from ice, kept frozen cryogenically.

    With all evidence looking at their rivals today, if anyone can do it, Audi can.

    @laxmax613: Well, you know, if Ford won't build the Interceptor, then maybe Audi will beat them up, and take their lunch. I personally don't care anymore. I've been waiting for it so long, I would almost rather buy Audi's interpretation anyway.

    The so called, "3 diamonds" are actually derived from the 3 leaf design of the Mitsubishi family crest, although the exact symbol was used by the Vikings, I think it meant heavenly power or something along those lines. Yes that ship is in Pearl Harbor, I lived in Honolulu for a time, its interesting how so many Japanese visit Pearl Harbor, I guess the yanks visit Hiroshima as well. I met a navy man when I was there, he told me a Japanese group asked him where the Arizona Memorial/Pearl Harbor was, he replied, "Right where you left it" I had to laugh...

    Certainly it was done to confuse photographers, but I wonder if it wasn't also an inside joke by engineers are designers trying to take a shot at Mitsubishi for copying the VW/Audi grille.
