The new BMW appears to come complete with a folding hard-top and not a sign of a soft top in these scans. The exterior seems to pick up cues from the GINA Light Visionary concept in the front on a body which has gone from flame surfaced to flame broiled. The other little detail hidden within is the bottom scan which says "The new BMW Z4, arrives 9 May 2009." More details as they appear. [BMW Blog]

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4 Shows Us Its Rear]]> Yesterday, we saw the 2010 BMW Z4 from the front 3/4. Now, thanks to a leaked catalog rendering, we can see it from the rear. Visible for the first time are its folding hardtop and shapely haunches. The more we see of the new BMW Z4, the more we like it. [via BMWBlog]

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4 Revealed By Michael Douglas]]> Here is the first picture of the 2010 BMW Z4 hard-top convertible completely uncovered. It was spotted by a forum user over at Zpost.com while being used in a scene for Michael Douglas’s upcoming thriller Solitary Man. We're thrilled.

Why? We’re just happy to see the de-Banglefied looks, especially the loss of the diagonal feature line aft of the front wheels.

Telling the story of a car magnate who destroys his personal and professional life through business and romantic indiscretions, "Solitary Man" is a strangely prescient film for the new BMW Z4 to leak through. The styling of the car is strongly reminiscent of the BMW CS concept, with wider, more pronounced intakes and headlights replacing the shark-like awkwardness of the previous model. [via ZPost.com]

Thanks for the tip, Tim!

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4 Spied Wearing Red, With Retractable Hard Top]]> The folks over at Next Autos have some of the best spy shots yet of the 2010 BMW Z4. Wearing only very light psychedelic BMW camo, its cleaned up lines and retractable hardtop are clearly visible. Unclear is whether or not the controversial diagonal character line behind the front wheels will be eliminated. Thus continues the slow unveiling of the new Z4; we’ve already spied its interior and exterior many times, and we're expecting an official reveal at one of this winter’s car shows.

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4 Heads To Munich]]> We've seen the 2010 BMW Z4 testing all over Germany, including the Nürburgring where we saw it ripping up the track. Or at least ripping up a track as much as a plastic camo-ed car can. But now the new Z4's traded in the racing cleats for some dainty little city shoes, at least according to these up-close shots of the Bavarian cream-roadster cruising the streets of Munich.

Though there's still quite a few layers of camo on this tester, we're expecting the new Z4 to be quite the looker when it comes out, drawing styling cues from the CS Concept which should give it the new BMW family look we'll see in the upcoming 2009 BMW 7-Series. It actually doesn't seem so bad, at least not compared to the 2010 F3.

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4 Hits The Ring]]> We're assuming Motor Authority's handsomely rewarded their spy videographers for providing the Aussie-run site with some great new video of the 2010 BMW Z4 taking a run 'round Germany's famed Nürburgring. Details on the new look and style as well as video after the jump.

"Although styling details are being kept closely guarded, the new car is expected to feature styling derived from the CS concept including a wider and more pronounced grille and larger intakes up front. A long hood and a short rear decklid remain but the previous car's circular taillights have been swapped with units that appear similar to those on the larger 6-series with rows of LED detailing."
We're also expecting them to ditch the psychedelic LSD-gasmic camouflage paint job when the new Z4 officially sees it's reveal. Here's the video:

<![CDATA[2010 BMW Z4]]> The 2010 BMW Z4 has shed the clunky body cladding and slipped into a skin-tight psychoactive anti-spy wrap that's making our eyes go all cross. Maybe it's because it wanted to look good for some track-time on the Nürburgring. The reason for the change is unknown, but let's ignore the swirls for a moment, because with all the bulky covering now out of the way we can get a better picture of how the shape of the car is being exaggerated even further into a long-nose short-decked sports car. Also clearly apparent in this latest round of spy photos is the final shape and break lines on this new hardtop convertible version of the upcoming model. We're waiting with baited breath to get our grubby mitts on the twin turbocharged inline six model. [WorldCarFans]
