A bottle of Paddy does wonders for a man's ability to accept the ugly. Either that or a crapload of dark beer.
On the plus, side, though, 45 mpg is pretty damned impressive.

Okay, seriously? How boring can this thing be? This thread is pushing forty responses already, this compared to the VW Scirroco R post that has been up all day and has just barely gotten itself past 30.
Obviously, there is some sort of entertainment value here.
On that note, I am surprised that this thread proved more popular than the VW thread.

Visually, these two look much nicer than most of the US Toyotas. That wagon is pretty nice...and we'll be stuck with the inevitably-4,000# Venza crossover instead.

That's more a comment on the absolute trash that Detroit foisted upon the American public for several decades than it is on the quality of the Avensis.
