So, this is basically a fuel-stealing, semi-sentient robot? Does anyone else see this as a bad thing? I didn't think so.

I saw this the other day. I still think that teh interweb is being punk'd. But I hold out hope that someone will develop a robot that is fueled exclusively by Ashton Kutcher.

Hey, as long as these things can be corralled into doing my dishes and laundry while I sit back and watch TV in my recliner, I'm all for it. I say bring it on!

@Mobius_1000_Club: That's the beauty of robot overlords. No clothes, no food; no laundry, no dishes. It's a win-win.

At first I'm all impressed, then I see a diagram drawn in Excel (or maybe even Word) and I'm a little less impressed.

I believe their tech specs were drawn up by the artist from Heavy Metal...

Apparently the primary use for this vehicle is to find Loc Nar and destroy it. The tape deck will be left as is so that the appropriate sound track music can be enjoyed. Eugene Levy has signed on to do the voice over for the navigation system that will be optional.

What we need to boost the space program is a contest to design a life-size scale of a certain Constitution-class starship. Yah, I'm a geek with dreams of grandeur.

@beyondthetech: Yeah, not the space X Prize where some guys competed to actually get someone in space.

Not that your idea is a bad one... Just needs refinement. The team will have to build a working 1701.

I'd be impressed, but I could build that easily. And mine wouldn't work either.

Rather like Eddie Izzard's commentary on why he was just as clever as Leonardo Da Vinci:

"And he invented the helicopter! That did. Not. Work. And so did I! Yeah. Did. Not. Work. Just like Leonardo's!"

@Deartháir and his eight little drained beers: Didn't he also state that it would go underwater, and that it didn't work on paper? I remember, he was trying to get it to work as a joke, but the audience wasn't laughing. I was though; I adore Eddie and his nonsensical brain.

@KarinLovesYou: I also. Rather like his little song:

"What I'm talking about is blasphemy! Blasphe-you! Blasphe-everybody in the room!

    Hmm. 6 person joke, that."
