    A miniaturized collection of WWII world leaders beside the postwar automotive achievements of their respective nations would absolutely RULE.

    Hitler inspecting Murilee's Beetle, subtly frowning.

    Stalin with one hand on the hood of a Moskvitch, peering ahead with a steely glare.

    Hirohito standing stiffly at attention behind a Subaru 360.

    FDR in wheelchair, subtly smiling, alongside a Bel Air.

    Churchill, cigar in mouth, cognac in hand, sitting heavily on the front fender of a TR3.


    Sounds like a great companion piece to my pewter portraits of General Apathy and Major Boredom.

    @stoke has a JDM front wing: If you're going with WWII leaders, who gets to stand next to the Citroen SM-- De Gaulle or Petain? I'd go with De Gaulle, myself-- he was taller, which will make the model-builder's task a little easier.

    @Tomsk 1.1: I'm sure. Hubert actually had a totally exposed Type 3 pancake engine, with no rear body behind the back window. The model doesn't show that because I didn't have those details in any of the photos.

    That's easily $20 bucks, I wouldn't even blink at that. What's good is that so many people would NOT want that when they could have a Camaro or Mustang model instead. That non-maintstream Rambler heritage is working in your favor.

    The problem is the rarity of the model kit. If there were fifty thousand of these left new in plastic, not only would I build it, I'd paint it olive gold with a couple rust spots, paint the passenger-side front quarter-panel a nice shade of eggshell white, and put a couple rust spots along the rockers and behind the wheels.


    Oh, and those rims are fine in the back. Get a couple awful steelies for the front.

    Pretty neat, but it'd need to be a car with a higher AMC goofycool factor to tempt me, I'd say.. like a 1/25 scale version of this perhaps:

    I would've sent a tip about this kit, but by the time I saw it, the auction had ended.. Pretty Jalop kinda ride though, I thought.
