"a V8 with the fuel economy of a six-cylinder: 24 MPG Highway, 21 MPG City."
Ok, here's the thing. If you're like me, which I know most of you are, you're going to want to use every one of those 335 ponies. I'm sure they don't get their econ ratings while hooning. You could, in theory, create an engine with 500hp getting 30mpg, but who gives a shit? I want to know that the econ is going to be for people like me who can't keep their foot out of the throttle! I demand moar knowledge! I also demand our reply function back, and our goddamn preview button! I am sick and tired of being treated like a peasant at the foot of the all-mighty Jalop hamsters. This is unacceptable and if this unfair treatment keeps up I feel a coup coming up on the horizon .....
Any interesting stories today? Seems like a really boring day out there. And no I do not need to hear about 510 HP Land Rover that I will never be able to afford or how the rich smugs are getting an extra 1 mile per gallon from their 100k Benz.
I looked at a 64' Corvair 500 for my brother yesterday, but he is still on the fence. He can't decide what he wants for a Sunday driver. Austin Healey, Corvair, who knows.
@lilwillie: Poor fella. You sound like you haven't had any Breffass Scotch yet. Better medicate, stat.
What kind of Healey? I go for a 100 or 3000 in a nanosecond. Never much liked Sprite's, especially the Bugeyes, which are pretty much just early MG Midgets.
For Corvairs, I'd go with the later models. I like the styling better, and GM had worked out more of the kinks. Plus they nixed the swing axles.
@lilwillie: The Corvair may be a deathtrap, but at least it's 'Murican and won't leave you stranded. Extra points if you put a Green Party bumper sticker on it.
Of course, you have my admiration if you can keep any British car running.
