Hmm. I would've hoped for more parity between the rides. The EVO is slinging about 750lbs less around the track, but the CTS is a 550hp compensation monster. I'm seeing apples and oranges here.
The EVO vs. an Impreza or even - God help me but it isn't completely wrong - Cobalt SS Turbo would be a much closer fight, numbers-wise. In fact, to shut down the naysayers, they should shoot for a dry track and put the EVO against the Cobalt. That would be a pretty even match if the specs are right. #jalopnikvsgm
@Elhigh: To achieve perfect parity, everybody would've been driving a CTS-V. But parity's not the point, nor is it the nature of the beast: this is a race between a Lutz in a CTS-V, and a common man in a commoner's car. Truly, an underdog story unfolding before our eyes.
But yeah sure on any other day/track event, I'd love to see dry runs between an Evo and a STI. #jalopnikvsgm
Ray, this guy runs is a former military-man fighter pilot charging headlong into a high-stakes challenge against a much younger man. You're a blogger who poses like this. Kudos to Wes for racing - that's badass - but overall, I'm rooting for Bob. #jalopnikvsgm
@twitchykun (Level 1 Jalop-Knight): I don't know what that means but we're just pals, and I just like poking fun at that picture. Also I sort of have a crush on Bob Lutz. Total silver fox . #jalopnikvsgm

Wes is in a win-win situation, in my eyes. #jalopnikvsgm
I'm cheering for Bob in this one. Sorry guys, but an mean old dude in a 195mph Caddy is way cooler than some commie longhair in a rice burning Playstation with four wheels.
@RandomGuyWithaMazda: Have you driven the V in the rain? It's pretty amazing! I was blown away at how good it was in the wet, I was expecting the car to be sliding everywhere and instead it maintained perfect composure. This wasn't on a racetrack or anything but it was a good downpour and I was pushing it pretty hard just trying to see when it would give. #jalopnikvsgm
@Timmy!: you can have the best traction control fitted to the most neutral FR in the world, but AWD is still a bit faster in low-traction situations. #jalopnikvsgm
@send lawyers, guns, and money: and the rear seats had the added bonus of being modeled after the rear seating position/legroom of a Traction Avant (useless fact brought to you by Citroen fanboi). #jalopnikvsgm
@send lawyers, guns, and money: As mediocre as those cars were, they are really ok to drive, if you can live with (or replace) the horrifically unsupportive front seats. #jalopnikvsgm
The front seats in our '95 Intrepid ES were pretty good. Passenger's seat was not only eight-way power, but also had manual lumbar adjustment (I think...been a while since we had that ride).
The base-seats on the '97 and later were definitely lacking, however. #jalopnikvsgm
@send lawyers, guns, and money: My family owned a '94 and then a '96 Concorde, which that one was passed down to me. I thought the front seats were pretty good. Not as good as my mom's V70, but not too bad. And I seem to recall the backseat not being too bad either. But it was nice having the full power seats on both sides. #jalopnikvsgm
It bugs the living hell outta me my '95 E320, '89 420 SEL, and the '95 Intrepid all had/have eight-way power passenger seats, yet my wife's '02 RX300 is limited to four-way. Front-back, and backrest adjustment.
Lame.
The '89 420 SEL even had two memory positions for both front seats, and said memory worked the telescoping wheel for the driver.
Bonus is, on older cars, it works while in-gear/motion. #jalopnikvsgm

Methinks 550 hp to the rear wheels vs. geektastic torque-vectored 4wd is going to make things interesting... #jalopnikvsgm
