lol... the power adapter for my electric razor has a circle-slash tag on the cord that warns against cutting the cable with scissors while holding it under a running tap...
@Dr.Danger: But if you start listing everything that shouldn't go in there, you'll end up with a long list and some stick figure graphics that aren't suitable for kids.
This is getting too complicated. They need to make a car with an all in one port like those fancy computer all in one card readers. That way you could put in electricity, gasoline, Ajax, peanut butter sandwiches, rancid canned dog food or whatever. There could even be a little plaque with a quip that would say something like, "If you can get it down the hole, we promise that the car will go".
@lilwillie hides autos in the attic: Growing up, we had one full service station left in town. The guy was super creepy and friends of mine would continually pull into his station and get a dollar of gas just to annoy him. I'm glad to hear that your experience was way better than his.
@lilwillie hides autos in the attic: Here in Naples, FL they never left. Of course, we also have a significant population of 80+ year-old lady drivers who never quite figured that whole pumping gas thing out for themselves.
@jaymcminn: I was just going to make the Florida comment myself. I don't think it's purely a function of the age of the populace, but that a LOT of FL residents came from NJ where nobody is even allowed to pump gas.
My granny in Vero Beach still has her pick of full-service pumps in the area.
@lilwillie hides autos in the attic: While those are all great reasons, for someone like me who grew up watching my mom and dad pump their own gas, leading me to do the same, station attendants will always seem a bit bourgeois.
As for state laws prohibiting you from self service, well, that's frankly just crazy. If you're allowed to drive a dangerous steel two-ton brick 60mph, you should be allowed to dispense highly flammable fuel for it.
240VAC at 50A is what my Carrier central air/furnace combo unit runs on. Not hard to find in residential housing in the U.S. Most kitchens and laundry room are wired thusly in the event of electric ovens/ranges and clothes dryers.

SAAB had an "add oil" reminder tag on the fuel filler cap of some of their two stroke models (before the 'mixer' engine).
Just saw a pic of it recently but now can't find it.

I know I enjoyed it as my first job at 16. You always saw cool cars, hot chicks, and knew where all the parties would be that weekend.
