The Nebula seems to have the spirit.

The Packard has a lot of jag Mk10/420G going on.

Which is fine, but articulated con rods?

The Michelin Challenge is open to almost all ages, hence the 300C lookalike, and a few others. And yes, it was asking for the next great American car, but if you think about it, the Camry or Accord are probably the most defining cars of the general population of America. Sure, they don't scream 'America' like a Z28, but they are a solid representation of suburban Americans, so I don't think you can begrudge anyone from choosing to not use one of the Big 2.3's brands.

Or they were just done by those companies or people wanting to get jobs at those companies.

Boy, that's a lot of fail.

And what's with all the foreign name plates in an American vehicle competition?

Give me a simple car that I can understand. A car where I know every nut and bolt and washer. A car that I can fix no matter what goes wrong. A car I can modify according to my tastes and whims. None of these flights of fancy fit that description.

@TR3-A: You mean like in the olden times? Its amazing to realize that even 20 year olds today were born after cars became too complicated for the home diy-er to do much more than check the oil and washer fluid.

@TR3-A: 2009 cars are a lot more complicated than 1960 cars. That's Do you really want to be tampering with your car's ABS and electronic suspension?

If you wanted to build a car yourself, you could get one of those sports car kits.
