I said this in Part I of this review and it bears repeating:
The ML series is to Mercedes what grits are to the Waffle House...painfully bland, but necessary for profit margins.
People will buy this. I question if they are really human, but who am I to judge. Because of this fact, Mercedes is going to make money on it. Hopefully a lot of money. Because then us commoners can still have a chance at owning one of their better cars.
My commute home runs through the really ritzy, isolationist part of town. These are like the Honda Accord there. I wish I had the time and/or clean record to sit across from the middle school and take pictures of all of them in the carpool line.
My view is this: If you've got money, buy something f*cking unique. It amazes me how people with means are just as much crowd-followers as those of us who have less choice in the matter.
You're on part 3 of this review, and that... thing... inspires so much "meh" from me that I honestly did not even notice that the first two parts of this review even happened. And that is absolutely no shot against Matt or his lovely photography or writing, (although there should be one of those showing up any minute...) it is simply the lack of anything even remotely interesting in that car. It has no personality, it has no character, and it's not entertaining in the slightest.
In fact, based on that, now that Matt's married, I think it's the perfect vehicle for him.
The Mercedes does nothing for me,what i really want to know is what is a Mack Daddy? Am i missing the obvious & it's a fat guy that lives on Mcdonalds?
@dako81: We're using throttle body here to describe the intake and injection programming. Technically, the system is different because of the injection process but, if that wasn't clear, it's our bad. This has been changed.
For less, you can buy the next gen Lexus RX 450H, which has great performance, great fuel economy, more confort, more toys, more reliability and from what I read and hear, much much better handling.
I can't speak for what passes for MB-Tex on current Mercs, but I can tell you that I quite like it on my '83. Comfortable, tasteful looking and tough as nails.
Do you guys proofread your articles before hand? I mean "attractive would touches", that's just sad. Let me know if you need someone to explain the difference between "their" and "they're" to you.

The Matt joke caught me totally off guard.
I was totally waiting for a Wes joke, so that I could point out, for the record, that it wasn't me that time.
And, for the record: It was all Dearthair, Matt, I swear!!!

You could also think "Kriss Kross," but I always took issue with a couple of 14-year-old guys using that expression.

I'm sorry to have had to do expose you to that, but the world is an ugly place, and you must be prepared.

THIS IS A FREAKING DIESEL AND DOESN'T FREAKING HAVE THROTTLE BODIES.
I'm kinda pissed that an automotive blog would make a mistake like this.
Go and look up how a diesel engine works.
