    @RC51: , @sinikl: Correct. Eau Rouge at Spa has to be one of the best-known corners in all the world.


    If I were asked on the street to name some more, I would probably add the Casino/Lowes/Hotel Hairpin, Tabac, St. Devote, Spoon, 130R, Parabolica, Maggots, Beckets, Stowe, Pouhon, Blanchimont, La Source, and so on. Ben, as an associate editor, you need to know these. It used to take some serious balls to go through Eau Rouge flat out.

I didn't go through five years of engineering school, ten years in the auto industry, and almost two years of this job for unnecessary disrespect. I know perfectly well what Eau Rouge is, God forbid I should try to write something amusing in an effort to entertain you during your day.

    @Ben Wojdyla: Look Ben, no "unnecessary disrespect" intended. I was obviously one of about 90% of the readers who didn't think this was funny and thought you were just ignorant (at least I didn't call you a dope, but I guess calling someone a future Motor Trend writer is worse?).


    We disagree on just about everything, but maybe if nobody laughs, it's the joke, not the readers?


    I didn't do 4 years of design school, 10 years in the design industry and two years of reading this blog to be ripped in the comments unnecessarily because nobody got your joke.


    See, that's not really funny either.

    Well, at least Mazda won't have to work too hard when it comes time for the 6 Coupe.


    If I were Merc, I'd be pissed off at their grille badge treatment. This makes Carlsson out to be that one person on your team who tries to take the most credit while doing the least work (sure, it adds a lot, but it's not like they designed the sheet metal or the engine or the interior layout. In fact, they seem to be giving those things the finger).

    @RC51: Wow, didn't know that. I saw recently that Lorinser had done the same.


    In any case, I think a simple badgeless or custom grille would go further than what looks like a simple badge replacement. A little ghetto-looking, IMHO.

    @The Name's Ash78, Housewares: They are fully aware than 99.99 percent of their customers (wait, what's 99.99% of 25? My math is no good today) will put the Mercedes star back on. I dare say that the original star is resting in the glove compartment when the car is delivered, just waiting to be slapped back into place.
