    The pedals on a Mercer Raceabouts, with the outboard accelerator, are cool. The pedals remind me of stirrups, with the bent up edges of the accelerator foot rest, brake and clutch to keep those slippery feet from slipping off.

    @skaycog.2000: I have some in my 5.3 Silverado with 48 inches of lift and 60-something inch tires. Im not sure why but one thing's for sure, I'm an idiot. But people keep telling me it's ok as long as I think I look cool...

    @Pessimippopotamus: This is the pedal set I thought of immediately when I saw this topic.

    The function is there, the extruded aluminum allows for these complex shapes to be made cheaply. When they first came out it was common for people to order then simply as paper weights for their desks. It also carried over the extruded aluminum theme for the car, so it fits a design message while being light weight and affordable.

    The only sad part is the new ones have steel pedal that are actually lighter. Also the F1's are prettier and more functional, but for the price I would be happy to have an Elise pedal on my desk.

    @Pessimippopotamus: This whole book on the design and building of the McClaren F1 is pure auto-erotica from cover to cover if you black out Gordan Murray and his British mullet. Very good book to read about everything F1 from Murray himself.

    @Pessimippopotamus: I got it for Christmas in like 1999. So tempting to sell it for a quick $200-500, but its too good of a book to sell. And if it is worth that much now, can't wait to see what my kids will pawn it off for.

    Being the Ferrari fan I am, it is impossible to conceive buying an item with the McLaren name, even when it's misspelled.

    The only exception would be made for a product called the McLaren F1. #mclaren
