    In my misspent youth as an automotive journalist I got to sample a lot of these little runabouts, and the Mazda3 was always near the top of the list. I ended up picking up one for myself. I'll reserve judgement on the new look until the 5-door is unveiled...that's the only one to have in my book.

    For the price point, Mazda's are quite nice. The new Mazda styling looks much better in person too.

    Dan Neel was on this morning's KTLA news, our local Tribune/CW affiliate. He was previewing the L.A. Auto Show with reporter Gayle Anderson, and gleefully whipped the shroud off of the Mazda, then a few moments later did the same for the 2010 'Stang. I commented to my partner out loud that I thought that was supposed to wait 'til tonight.


    Nobody tazed them, so Ford must have given tacit (or explicit) permission.

    Hmm. The current Mazda3 hatch/wagon is at the top of my replacement car list. Good thing I'd buy used because I sure wouldn't buy this thing.

    I love it.


    The 2.5 finally puts it on par with the Accord too, I can't stand driving cars with less than around 170hp. Even if its adequate and still feels fast, it just doesn't sit well in my head.

    @The Name's Ash78, Housewares: You're right. On a Mazda, it would have to be a "Ramen eating grin". Now if any noodle shop chains catch on in Italy, maybe we'll see pictures like the one of that speeder's Fiat from yesterday.
