Yay, more bullshit jibberjabber from Lutz. Neither of these concepts would sell, even if somebody in GM other than Lutz is actually considering them (doubtful).
And, seriously, Regal GS? Why would you name it that? Because you want to remind buyers of that shitty GM-10 their dad used to have? If so, I hope they're also planning a Custom model with a 3100 V6, column shifter and a digital speedometer. #buickregal

@danio3834: I like to see the return of the station-wagon and there more fans of wagon then we taught when we go to this site [www.stationwagonforums.com] but I agree about the crossover/suv things
and I agree for a Regal GS (maybe the AWD version could be a GSX ;-) ) #buickregal
@stephdumas: Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a true station wagon. The problem is, they don't want them to be station wagons, so they add some minivan and SUV to the mix. At that point, the fair and true blood of the Wagon is distorted into an indistinct, jellybean-like abomination with no identity.
The title pic is not a wagon. THIS is a wagon. #buickregal
@danio3834: if only GM decide to bring the Aussie Holden wagon and badge it as a Buick (or Caprice Estate), we might have fun to drive it although not extreme as drifting with this Commodore wagon ;-) #buickregal

@PowerTryp, Starless wonder.: I really do love that car. My grandpa had one till about 2005. Awesome car! I can still recall most of my child hood memories of my summers in that thing. And one of my first ever road trips when I was in college was in that thing. I used to call it the Wolverine Freighter.
It does however bring a small tear to my eye every time I see one in those exact colors, I always associate it with my gramps who died in '06. Great fella. #buickregal
Reading the comments below and extrapolating the usual Jalopnik opinion and European view on fast wagons, I can say that this would be a desirable car and people would buy it.
I know this an apples to oranges comparison, but an Opel Insignia OPC must be like 45K Euros minimum, right? I like the car, bu tit's adventurous of GM to think they can charge even the U.S. dollar equivalent for one of these here and make enough sales to warrant a performance model for a brand that doesn't do "performance". #buickregal
@brandegee: 45k euro? Ha! Try 62k for the sedan, and 64k for the wagon. (yes, 62k Euro is $93k) At least in my country, in countries like Germany it will be considerably cheaper. The OPC suffers from the gas guzzler tax in my country.
edit: I just took a look at the German Opel site, and the base OPC costs 44.9k Euro in Germany.
@duurtlang: Yeah but you guys roll VAT into the prices and US prices always exclude sales tax, so it's not a fair comparison at all. Not to mention the other new car taxes added to the base EU price. #buickregal
I've been using the hell outta the wife's wagon lately, mostly going to and from a storage unit, plus carrying 4 people and lots of luggage. It's gotten to the point where I'm almost pissed off to be driving my sedan (all the exterior size with far fewer utility benefits).
Yes, please. While I may not be in the market for this specific car, it's nice to see someone leading the way with the style. #buickregal
Damn you, Matt, and your clever journalistic trickery, putting "335 HP Buick Regal GS" and "Wagon" in the same line with but a tiny, insignificant comma to separate them from being a run-on sentence and making me think that we were going to get a 335hp Buick wagon!
The Navy is unhappy at the Government's purchase of so many fleet Chevy Uplanders, they decide to take their rage out at the source.
Detroit: So shitty, pilots believe their in Iraq.
GM tries to remind the nation of their supplying the Allies by hiring a flyover, then quickly aborts after realizing that the majority of the plane is built overseas. Epic fail.
That's all I got. That Saab joke just stole my thunder.

The 4 or 5 people in this country who will actually buy a wagon already have many options to choose from and I doubt a Buick was on their wish list.
Now, Regal GS?? Yes please. #buickregal

I hear Buick and wagon in the same sentence and I keep thinking of this. Not that I don't think a good one can be made, mind you. Just sayin.

This thing looks way to tall to be a wagon. Take a look at this roadmaster buick, now thats a wagon. #buickregal

Too bad about the looks. It's a good looking vehicle, but it doesn't scream "Regal" to me. #buickregal

Now, GM, was that so hard? #buickregal

Sad to say it, but Buick doesn't need a wagon; they need one of them crossover RX fighters, like the Rendezvous tried to be...sort of. #buickregal

How's that for a run-on sentence!? #buickregal
