The announcement went on to say that Mosley was stepping down in order to spend more time with his dominatrices. That should leave him tied up for a few years, and unable to assume other positions.
So, in essence, he's saying, "I'll leave, but only if you put my puppet in charge." Putin did the same thing in Russia, right?
I think it will be disastrous for the sport, but the teams need to keep the threat of pulling out and starting their own series alive. If Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, BrawnGP, etc. all pull out, there goes the money. F1 would not be able to survive with just Force India, Williams, and USF1. Would Mosley revive MARCH, then?
What will be interesting to see is how things go the first couple of years after Max leaves. Will the F-1 teams run amuck? Will it be politics as usual or will the FIA get back to its nominal job of being a sanctioning body and motoring safety research organization?
Also, I think I would rather see Ari Vatanen as FIA pres than Todt. Less baggage and favoritism there. Hopefully he could also rebuild the WRC.
Yeah, he's perfectly willing to step down if his hand-picked successor is named to replace him. Scrrew that!
I truly pray that the major racing teams of FOTA leave Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone to twist slowly in the wind and form the breakaway series they've been promising.

Ray, we saw the pictures! In fact, I'm still trying to un-see them.
And then Mosley said, "I simply will not be the whipping boy--oh, wait."

And I'm guessing he's probably sick of having to deal with FOTA who isn't as obedient as he likes them. Unlike girls.

Are you saying that staying is a better alternative? How?
Or are you just proving you can be an ass?
If you've got nothing to say, F#@k Off ...
