Maserati Gran Turismo Wrecked, We Cry

Why do you boobs keep doing this kind of thing? Stop! Just stop wrecking beautiful cars. It's a waste. This gorgeous piece of Maserati Gran Turismo art was mangled after barreling into a Lincoln Navigator in Ontario, Canada, and we ache because of it. Seriously now, does the most gorgeous Maserati in a generation deserve this kind of abuse? You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Maserati Quattroporte S, Standing Still In Moving Picture

The 2009 Maserati Quattroporte S, with its 425 HP 4.7-liter V8, is as much a supercar as it is a mob boss-wafting luxury sedan. But apparently Maserati thinks the best way to show off their facelifted Q-ship isn't by showing it being wrung out on a twisty backroad or demonstrating how many dead thugs can fit in the trunk. No, Maserati would much rather just show you the car standing still in a room. Do they really think it's that good looking? Ok, so maybe it is. Check out the video for yourself below the jump. 2009 Maserati GranTurismo Spyder Caught With Breadvan Camo

This strange looking Maser may appear to be a coupe, but sources say this is actually the upcoming Maserati GranTurismo Spyder, or as some are calling it, the GT-C. Whatever they end up calling it, expect a power-folding drop-top when the convertible hits showrooms around March. Of course, all that fancy auto roof origami means extra weight, so the car will likely use the extra muscle of the GranTurismo S' 434 HP 4.7-liter V8. More »

PCH, Dante Alighieri Thinks You Deserve It Edition: Lamborghini Jarama Or Maserati Quattroporte?

We love to pit one high-end Italian car against another in this series; we've had Ferrari 250 versus Lamborghini Diablo, Espada versus Espada, Ferrari Mondial versus Maserati Coupe, among others. Up until now, however, a Lamborghini has never vied with a Maserati for a place in your Garage Of Eternal Suffering. We've managed to find a couple of quite affordable classics from those two manufacturers, so it's time to triple the size of your tool collection and buy some asbestos coveralls!

2009 Maserati Quattroporte and Quattroporte S Revealed

If you love the Maserati Quattroporte, these photos of the 2009 Maserati Quattroporte S should warm your heart. If you don't love the QP, we're sure with enough therapy you can turn things around. The Quattroporte S model gets a version the 4.7-Liter V8 out of the Gran Turismo S, detuned slightly to produce 425 HP. Obvious exterior changes include a slatted grille, revised front and rear lights and new mirrors. Because this car isn't for the mass affluent, the QP has been given two new shades of leather: Marrone Corniola and Sabbia. Press release below the jump; longing and credit checks sure to follow.

2010 Maserati Quattroporte Spied In Italy, Testing California Motor?

With forthcoming competition in the form of the Porsche Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide, Maserati has apparently decided it's time for the Quattroporte to get its game face on. Behind the saggy cladding on this tester is said to be a new face with a grille similar to that found on the Gran Turismo coupe. But this won't be just a shot of botox for vanity's sake. The enhanced mouth will likely feed a new direct-injection engine. More »

Eurospares Sells Wrecked Supercars, Oh The Humanity

The idea of dropping a mint condition 6.2 L Lamborghini V12 into a mid-engine Vegamino is pure sex, but in order to get there, a supercar must die. How are you going find such a donor? Well, Eurospares seem to be just the place to find those tasty morsels of fine Italian delights. Absolutely wonderful for modern car pickers, but it's damn horrifying to see a burned out 1967 Ferrari 365 GT or the shell of a Maserati 3500. Clicking through the inventory is an exercise in exclaimation: Nooooo! Awesome!

Maserati Lamp Is Almost Like Owning The Real Thing

Don't have the $100,000-plus to pony up for a new Maserati? Don't worry, friends, there are other options out there. Take this Maserati Lamp, for example. Designed and produced by Lumina, this ode to Italian design is available in a standing or tabletop version. It takes a cue from the automaker by including the Maserati logo and the negative-space design is meant to look like the familiar Maserati grille. There's no word on pricing, but consider that it may be expensive, but not more than the actual car itself. That being said, if you don't own a Maserati and you're buying this lamp you're slightly sadder than the person who buys one of these and does. [Maserati Lamp via Gearfuse]

Maserati Bellagio, A Coachbuilt Quattroporte Wagon

Being shown off at the same Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este where the BMW M1 Homage was recently unveiled, is this tasty Maserati Quattroporte wagon-ization. Though perhaps with the addition of the hatchback, we should call it a Cinqueporte. But you can call it whatever you want, we just love the way it looks. Designed and constructed by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, the Bellagio has a swooping fastback rear end that's tapered oh so delicately as opposed to a traditionally squared-off wagons.

Houston Stripper Steals Identity, Buys Cars

This little ray of sunshine is Stacy Marie Oberley, a 28-year-old stripper who lives in Houston. Normally a delicate flower such as this wouldn't merit scrutiny, but apparently Miss Stacy Marie has been a bad girl. Not only is she on probation for narcotics trafficking, but she has stolen the identity of an autistic woman and used it to buy luxury cars. Dainty. According to police, she used the Social Security number to purchase a Maserati CoupĂ© and some form of 2006 BMW. While police have recovered the Maserati, they have yet to find either the BMW or Miss Oberley, but we're sure they have a couple ideas on where she might be. More »

Top Ten Totally Awesome Turbocharged American Cars

We love the '80s and not just for Rick Astley, Members Only jackets and New Coke. All that's well and good, but what we really love can be described in one italicized, chromed plastic-emblemed word: TURBO. The 80's economy forced automakers to use weaker and smaller engines, so to boost power we all turned to MacGyver-rigged turbochargers. With all that super turbo potential out there, it was hard for us to come up with a top ten list of the most totally awesome turbocharged American cars from the 1980s — but nonetheless, we did. Ogle the 80's heart-action, then tell us which is your favorite in the poll below. More »

New Ferrari Dino Breadvan Caught Testing

You love it, you hate it. The possibility of a front-engined V8-powered Ferrari "Dino" seems potentially sacrilegious, yet quite titillating. We're not exactly sure what to think about the new baby from Maranello. The idea of a smaller, more attainable Ferrari is fine with us, but we usually associate the "Dino" name with a mid-engined V6 model. Actually nobody is really sure what the car will be called. We don't even know if the car will be built by Ferrari in Maranello, or outsourced to Maserati in Modena. It's speculated the sales goal will be 4000 units of the new car. Either way, if it keeps the current breadvan profile of this current test mule caught by the advice giving Aussies at CarAdvice, we're all for them calling it whatever they want to. Mmm... breadvan. Maserati Gran Turismo S Eats Up The Road

While the new Maserati Gran Turismo S certainly looks good in the press photos and in person, it looks even better on the road— you know, driving and whatnot. Sure, the specs of the 4.7-liter V8 are compelling on paper, but you really do need to hear what those 440 horses sound like to fully appreciate it.

PCH, Superpower Swap Showdown: Subaru'd Renault or Toyota'd Maserati?

With Italy edging out a narrow victory over Britain in yesterday's Choose Your Eternity poll and advancing to the first-ever Project Car Hell Superpower Showdown with France, I decided we needed to add an extra layer of Hell to each nation's entrant in order to honor this occasion with the solemnity it deserves. Not that we won't repeat the Superpower Showdown schtick over and over, of course, but this one is first! So, what we got here is PCH Superpower cars with Japanese engines. Now, you figure maybe a Japanese engine would make such a car more reliable, but I've been careful to select car/engine combos that involve twin-turbocharged complexity and fragile-chassis-twisting power. France? Italy? You decide!

Maserati GranTurismo S Revealed Live In Geneva

What a difference 25 years makes. Maserati, once tainted by bad business deals and shoddy merchandise, not to mention an ill-fated tieup with Chrysler products, Maserati is a plain-out player these days. The Pininfarina-designed GranTurismo is a stunning car in any format, and with a 440-hp Ferrari-derived V8 and new MC-Shift dual-clutch tranny, it'll likely gain a few extra grains of road respect among the Aston-Martin-Uber-Alles set. Maserati reps assure us the automanual is a real achievement, not just some sluggish wetbox. Meow. Full press release after the jump.

Maserati GranTurismo S, 440 HP And Coming To Geneva

With its classic long-hood GT proportions, the Maserati GranTurismo has fantastic style. But while it may look great driving along an alpine mountain pass, the driving experience might leave you wanting for more power. For those people, Maserati will be showing the new GranTurismo S at Geneva. Displacement is bumped from 4.2L to 4.7L, so the Maser is now making 440hp; 35hp more than the old engine. The upgraded mill is connected to the company's race-inspired, electro-actuated MC-Shift gearbox in the transaxle layout. All these changes help the S achieve a 100km/h(62mph) time of 4.9sec. Full press-release after the jump.

Maserati Cinqueporte Proves That Five Doors Are Better Than Four

We love the unique design of the Maserati Quattroporte but have always felt something was missing. Clearly, what was missing was a fifth door. It may not be Maximum Wagon Day, but it's hard not to appreciate how wonderfully unnecessary this vehicle is. And how do you know that it's wonderfully unnecessary? The order for this one-off vehicle was placed from a mysterious customer in the Middle East. As there will be only one of these, it makes you that much more elite than the 100 commoners that bought the Collezione Cento. Collezione Uno!
