I'd rather have this than any new Bimmer, so... what could you buy for $39,000 that would be better? (and I'm curious to see what you'll come up with) #bmw
This is crack, but not as big a rock as you might think. I saw a similar-milage E30 at BAT from last year
advertised for $30,000.00 (don't know if it sold), and one with 69k sold for $2o,ooo.oo this year. Eliminate the EVO and you're at $35, 000.00, flash a roll of 300 franklins, and you might be rolling. If the price premium/low mileage can keep you out of the dealership for 30k miles, you could be money ahead from the high mileage boys.
There's no question these have been going up in price-though this one seems to be pushing the envelope. A lot of money for 20 year old factory flares and wing, but with wider rubber and a touch of suspension drop they still look pretty damn good.
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidou...."
Where do you get this stuff?! Often I could care less about the cars, but I want to read how you've both praised and dissed them.
Here, though, you're going to need a longer "NO!" bar. This one's going to break a record.
If you are rich enough to throw down on this, you can throw down on some much nicer things for a little more.

Crack pipe by a country mile, and I love the hell out of these things. (Still, it's got what look like Sport Evolution door panels, seats, and the pimpy-impractical suede Sport Evo shift lever and wheel. The shift lever and wheel are still available new, but those seats and panels are rarer than hen's teeth. Also, a new coolant tank! Whee!)
In this country, if it's selling at that price, it's a showroom bubble car or a busted-ass greymarket special like an Evo/Ravaglia/thereabouts. This guy's smoking his own hype.
Well first of all, it's way too nice for me. I prefer a little "patina" on my cars. I'll have none of this shiny paint, clean interior shit. No way man. Give me a beater with a good heart so I can drive it like it was meant to be driven.
Or I'll just shovel money into it until I get what I want.
I love the car, hate the price. Crack pipe with free refills. #bmw
I remember driving these cars when they were new. Impressive performance for a 4 cyl but they always left me a little cold. I was much more impressed with the follow-on E36.
I respect these E30's but don't desire them. I wouldn't buy it at 1/3 the price as I know I could find an E36 for close to the same money. Not for me, so I vote CP. #bmw
The E30 M3 is one of those cars all the experts look at and say they will bring big money "some day". It isn't "some day" yet. Give it another 10-15 years. Right now, crack pipe by $10-15K. #bmw
@P161911 probably shoudn't have: are these the same experts that say older MX-5's are goldmines as well (regardless of the fact that there are about a billion of them out there) #bmw
@B1663R: I haven't heard the Miata story. I guess those guys are still holding on to MGBs too. There were only about 18,000 E30 M3s made total and a little less then 5,000 US models total. Considering how many have been made into track dogs, heavily modded, wrecked, etc. nice original examples will be highly sought after. #bmw
Two days of NPOCP cars that get me all hot bothered, but I still must vote crack pipe for the second day in a row. It's disheartening. However, I'm in love with this car. It's just to expensive.
A friend of mine had an M3 of this vintage... great car! For this price-point, however, it's pretty evident this seller was hitting the crackpipe when he posted the ad, causing him to inadvertently add an extra zero somewhere. #bmw
The seller has clearly set his price with the idea of selling the car overseas where, thanks to the weak dollar, this will look sensibly priced. Therefore, it's a north American Crack Pipe. #bmw
