Ugh. They just come right out and say, nope, not actual carbon fiber. Great looking facsimile though, right?
I know something about black chrome that they didn't consider. The LUZ Solar One plant, a solar thermal power generation facility, relies heavily on black chrome for the receiver surfaces. It's a selective surface: it picks up infrared energy but doesn't re-radiate very well at all, so you can blast heat into it and it just gets hotter and hotter. That's great if it's on a pipe full of heat transfer oil and generating electricity. But on your car's door handles? Boy, that's gonna hurt.
DAMMIT you mean my COTD-worthy bons mots went into the CRAPPER? You're just gonna have to take my well-chosen words for it then that I was HOT and hitting on all four when I laid down the commentary. Studs Terkel is smiling down on me from on high, that's how good I was.
Well, kinda.
I like the ICON approach, but not the engine. Yawn, more coffee.
Talk to me when you've done it up Icelandic Style. They're closer to the Financiapocolypse than anyone, so I think they know a thing or two about SUV modding for the inevitable Mad-Max-on-the-tundra armageddon to come.

Wide monster tires, top rack, spotlights, and frame rails to keep you from falling in the cracks.
Zombie stomping fun.
