    A noted Swedish motor journalist who used to work for Fart said that the magazine changed it's name mainly because it was really embarrassing to be covering races in England.


    And yes, the mag was a merger between "Speed" and "Motor Revue" magazines. It sucks having a funny language.

    My guess for a translation (I know it's not as amusing as bodily functions, but whatever) is: Speed with Motor Revue. That is based on my rapidly diminishing grasp of Norwegian though, so take it with a grain of salt.


    All of my attempts at a bad pun have been rapidly backspaced up, so I'll leave you guys to it.

    @the good dr zero: Close enough. The 'med' [with] implies that there had been a merger of two separate magazine, namely 'speed' and 'Motor Review'.

    Despite a marketing blitz, they were never able to quite reach number 2.


    Lately sales have been stagnant.


    This magazine stinks.

    I bet their reviews are explosive, full of language that bursts off the page. The writers must be crack to sniff out those hard to get stories. It has to take the silent-and-deadly skill of a ninja to get the scoop. Because there is nothing worse than writing that looks drizzled on the page, like a stain, that kind of thing needs to be wiped out. I bet working for them is a blast.
