The tuner apparently used a beefier cam in conjunction with revised engine management to squeeze 33 extra horsepower out of the new Benz, rather than going the turbo route as they did on the Lorinser Smart ForTwo. A lowered suspension tightens up handling and a tuned exhaust combines with exterior badging to let everyone know that you're hot. Check out the "hot" press release below, complete with bonus heat metaphors.

Lorinser makes the C-Class "hot" with 305 HP

Digital revolution renders classic engine tuning more effective than ever

Hot camshafts? In the age of chip tuning, that sounds like a relic of the Eighties. Incorrectly, as there is not much extra power to be gained electronically from a naturally aspirated engine. Mechanical measures continue to be the first choice there, and more effective than ever before in combination with an adjustment of the engine management. One particularly successful example is the C 350 Limousine from Sportservice Lorinser, an almost irresistible temptation for everyone with petrol in their blood: special camshafts and a modified engine control unit kindle here far more fire than the series version of the extremely successful 3.5-litre V6. 305 HP (224 kW) instead of 272 HP (200 kW) are an end result that can be more than seen in a non-charged engine, especially since the fast Mercedes accelerates powerfully with 380 instead of 350 Nm, even at very low RPM. As a result of the tuning measure, the interval between opening the exhaust valve and closing the intake valve becomes bigger. The result is a "hot" overlap, which is where the camshaft modification gets its name from. On the other hand, the Lorinser lowering kit is responsible for the "hot" handling in the bend. An additional bonus in the driving-fun account.

Digital or analogue? Music fans may argue about this point, but not car enthusiasts. Of course, the Lorinser sports exhaust system plays music purely mechanically, and develops such a crescendo when the accelerator pedal is pushed enthusiastically that even eardrums get goosebumps. But the optical charms of the C-Class also easily arouse the desire to own one. Is it the well-designed exhaust tailpipes integrated into the Lorinser rear apron that the sporty roof and rear spoiler soar above? The muscular side sills or the striking front apron? An abundance of details that add up to a fascinating automobile. The model RS 8 matt black 19-inch light-alloy wheels draw attention to themselves as they provide exciting contrasts in combination with the white bodywork colour. An additional stylish alternative is the silver-coloured light-alloy wheel RS 9 from the Lorinser assortment. An offer that repeatedly proves in its totality that the Winnenden customiser won't be losing steam any time soon when it comes down to stirring up passions for automobiles.

<![CDATA[Lorinser Smart ForTwo Turbo Is Fun Until Your Friends Find Out]]> During our first drive of the 2008 Smart ForTwo we enjoyed its small size in the big city, but we would have really enjoyed some extra power. This Lorinser-tuned ForTwo may not be a sports car in the traditional sense, but with 101 HP from its turbocharged 3-cylinder, it's a nice improvement over the stock mill. However, even though the car weighs just 1700 lbs, 0-62 MPH still takes almost 10 seconds, likely due in part to the sluggish semi-automatic gearbox. Sure, you get a Lorinser body kit and some spiffy rims, but we'd still rather just build ourselves a 'Busa Smart. Humorous ESL press release after the jump.

Sales start for the Lorinser Fortwo with 101 HP

After the fast-moving study, Sportservice Lorinser is now bringing the series version of the Fortwo on the road: it was worth waiting, as the look and driving experience of the power dwarf remain almost unfiltered. 101 HP (74 kW) – more than in any factory version – provide a smart power caracteristics in any situation. After all, at only around 800 kg vehicle weight, the "horses" have an easy job. The conversion is based on the three-cylinder petrol-fuelled turbo engine with its standard 84 HP (62 kW).

With the power training from Winnenden, the small vehicle with the rear-wheel drive accelerates to 100 km/h in under ten seconds, and is therefore over one second faster than the standard vehicle. The Lorinser upgrade for the basic petrol-fuelled vehicle with previously 61 HP (45 kW) is just as nippy. 71 HP (55 kW) are now being mobilised, just like with the average series motorisation, which in turn has an output of 82 HP (60 kW) after its power was increased by the famous customiser. All Lorinser models achieve a regulated top speed of 160 km/h, which is more than the fastest factory version. That's why the speedometer also receives a discreet update. The interior may be small but the looks are great. Lorinser has the following design parts in stock for you: a black leather steering wheel with aluminium, an accented parts set for instruments, centre consoles, ventilation and handbrake lever, pedals and footrest in aluminium.

You don't have to worry about the necessary overtaking prestige either. The wide spoiler bumper of the body-kit appears to virtually soak up the road with its U-shaped air inset, which houses a sporty mesh. In addition, Sportservice Lorinser will soon be offering a 4-pipe exhaust system that cheekily protrudes out of the well-proportioned rear bumper and leaves no doubt that we're dealing here with a real little bundle of power.

On the other hand, an extremely muscular "back" is the optical identifying feature for the Lorinser wing extensions. A total of 55 millimetres of width increase create space for giant 8.5×17 aluminium rims with tyre size 225/35R17 on the powered rear axle. In the front it is 7×17 inches and 205/40R17. The Speedy design with the six spade-shaped spokes is a real eye-catcher that signals distinct dynamics even when at a standstill. No empty promise, as the Fortwo allows high curve speeds thanks to the wide tyres. All that's left is the question to the pursuers: who's getting Shorty?

<![CDATA[Lorinser Tunes The C-Class Estate, Finds Stock C-Class Too Pitchy]]> Those crazy Swabians at Lorinser are at it again! After taking the Mercedes SL up to 11, they've turned their tuning fork on the C-Class T Model (wagon/estate). It's just the vehicle for when you need to get the kids to school, like, yesterday. In addition to the obvious bodywork (air inlets are not standard on most wagons) and Lorinser RS8 19-inch wheels, the grocery getter also gets engine upgrades for both the diesel and gas versions. At the top end, the C 350 gets a power bump to 305 hp compared the 272 hp from the standard six, thanks to modified camshafts. We'd still rather have the RS4 Avant, though. Press release below:

In 1977, the official birth year of Sportservice Lorinser, Mercedes first presented a station wagon named T and, thereby, introduced the first true luxury vehicle in this segment. Who knew that, in 2007, Lorinser would transform this practical body shape into an athletic and muscular powerhouse: the brand new, Lorinser-tuned T model of the C-Class.

This vehicle, which has a distinctly brawnier rear than its predecessor, distinguishes itself by the tuning company's rear apron with horizontal honeycomb grill. Thanks to its three-dimensional shape and cleverly selected contour edges, this upgraded C-Class model can boast unexpectedly dynamic lines. Moreover, the two rear muffler pipes with their sophisticated design and flush fit provide the C-Class with an acoustic arsenal that is second to none. Similarly distinctive design elements from Lorinser's current Haute Couture of vehicle bodies are the wide fenders with their large air inlets, which guide hot exhaust air away from the brakes and bear a striking resemblance to the flared nostrils of a race horse. However, the first thing the driver in front of you will notice is the striking front apron which the Winnenden tuning company fitted with a honeycomb sport grill.

Thanks to the Lorinser suspension lowering kit, this beefier T model will edge its way into the rear-view mirror of the driver in front - just above the asphalt. How quickly it approaches is determined by the question if the customer installed a Lorinser performance enhancement, which is available for most Diesel and Otto engines.

An upgrade is available for the C 200 Kompressor model which boosts the vehicle's performance from 135 kW/184 hp to 160 kW/218 hp. This extra power increases the torque from 250 Nm to 295 Nm. This added power is achieved by installing a modified engine control unit along with altered belt pulleys, drive belts and a different air filter.

The C 350 with its six-cylinder V engine can also be optimised. This model also features modified camshafts. The performance is increased from 200 kW/272 hp to 224 kW/305 hp, while the torque jumps from 350 Nm to astounding 380 Nm.

The Lorinser Diesel Modules widen the range of options for self-igniting engines even further. These modules give the C 200 CDI a power treatment raising the performance of the vehicle from 110 kW/136 hp to 115 kW/156 hp, which translates into a torque boost from 270 Nm to 360 Nm. With the aid of the Lorinser Diesel Modules the C 220 CDI's standard performance is enhanced from 125 kW/170 hp to 140 kW/191 hp and a whopping 480 Nm of torque (standard: 400 Nm). The top of this line of upgraded Diesel vehicles is the C 320 CDI, which features a standard performance of 165 kW/224 hp and a maximum torque of 510 Nm. Lorinser's engineers managed to elicit 192 kW/261 hp and 580 Nm from this top-notch engine.

The capabilities of this power pack are underlined visually by straight-line side skirts that give the vehicle a high-tech appearance and elegantly emphasise the straightforward, yet well-proportioned contours of the T model's body. The central and distinctive design elements of this model are its five gill-like air inlets. The side skirts visually connect the wheel arches which are dominated by single-part, 8.5x19 inch Lorinser RS8 rims in turbine design. Of course, Sportservice Lorinser also carries a wide range of other attractively designed rims, for the product range of the Winnenden tuning company is just as versatile as the C-Class model T. <![CDATA[Lorinser Takes Mercedes SL Up To 11, Top Speed Up To 201 MPH]]> The speed freaks may not be impressed by 201 mph, but we're more than floored at the prospect of nearly 4,000 pounds of luxo-roadster breaking the 200 mph mark. The suave Swabians at Lorinser managed this feat with a Mercedes SL by taking an SL65 Biturbo AMG mill and tweaking the electronic and fuel management systems to achieve 660 hp. Named for the high-speed test track, the Nardo3 also comes complete with a not-so-subtle body kit boasting wider fenders and intakes wide enough to swallow an Aveo (and also hopefully cool the brakes needed to stop this beast). The company insists the car is an absolutely reliable daily driver and have added enough Alcantara leather bits to make the most pampered driver feel comfortable. Full details below the jump:

660 hp: Lorinser catapults exclusive SL limited series to 325 km/h

The 12.4 kilometre race track in Nardo has become a legend thanks to the speed records that were set in this location. Now, for the third time, a luxurious Lorinser limited series that is based on the Mercedes Benz SL will be named after this Southern Italian circuit. Independently measured speeds of up to 325 km/h catapult the Winnenden car maker into extreme regions that are usually reserved for puristic super sports cars. Impressive 660 hp/485 kW are required to help the almost two tons of this roadster climb the Himalaya of top speeds. The gargantuan maximum torque of 1,013 Newton metres matches the torque produced by a medium-sized truck. While these benchmark figures may sound exorbitantly high, they are necessary to overcome the physical problem of air resistance increasing exponentially rather than linearly, which makes it necessary to utilize as much power as possible to achieve an increase in speed. The Swabian technicians, therefore, optimised the electronic system and fuel injection of the engine, which is based on the 612 hp / 450 kW Biturbo engine of the SL65 AMG. "The Nardo3 is a race machine designed for the road. The goal we tried to achieve with this design was to allow the driver to have as much fun as possible and, at the same time, enjoy the atmosphere the car creates," explains Marcus Lorinser, Managing Director of the Winnenden maker of exclusive vehicles. In line with the quality doctrine of his company, Lorinser also made sure that the Nardo3 test vehicle is not a souped-up and delicate prototype, but an absolutely reliable daily driver.

The vehicle's exterior has all the characteristics of a menacing race car. The flanks of the vehicle are marked by the aggressive front and rear bumpers, widened fenders, and gigantic air intakes. The latter are used for effectively deflecting the heat generated by the engine and brakes. A car that most other drivers are likely to see only from behind does, of course, also need a corresponding exhaust system that is both visually and acoustically impressive. By integrating double exhaust pipes into the rear bumper, Sportservice Lorinser managed to create a particularly beautiful sculpture.

The vehicle's interior, on the other hand, provides the driver with all the creature comforts including seats that are both comfortable and provide sufficient support as well as the opulent and comprehensive Alcantara interior equipment. This interior ensures that the Nardo3 can be used for every day driving and offers an enjoyable ride even on long-distance trips. "This concept is just as well received in Germany as in the USA and Saudi Arabia. It is, therefore, important that the Nardo3 performs exceptionally well in all areas. This is the only way for us to excite customers who love to live life on the edge," explains Marcus Lorinser the synthesis of sportsmanship and luxury, which his group tries to achieve with its dealerships that are spread across the globe in 42 countries. The number of units the company is planning to produce is only slightly higher than this figure. In an effort to underline the exclusiveness of its vehicles, the company will produce no more than 50 vehicles in its Winnenden production facilities.

<![CDATA[Lorinser Mercedes CL-Class]]>

The Swabians at Lorinser have turned their style wands on the new Mercedes CL class, with a new aero kit and various add ons including the company's signature aluminum wheels. Not much to say, really, but that the new CL's design economy makes out-tricking a dicey prospect. Luckily the Swabians know something about economy.

The "great" coup s of Mercedes Benz are traditionally at home were highest demands are honored. The aerodynamic set of the Swabian specialist Lorinser skillfully highlights the new sportiveness of the CL. Especially the striking spoiler bumper with the integrated fog turning lights emphasizes the new design line. The wide side sillboards and front fenders with grill-covered air intakes add a classy touch. The photo shows the CL with aluminum rims of the type Lorinser RS 8.

<![CDATA[Swabian Refinement: The Lorinser Mercedes S-Class]]>

Considering we've always had trouble with Teutonic coordinating conjunctions, we're relying on World Car Fans to translate details on Lorinser's new S Class tuner — the Lorinser S 06. First, an engine kit gives it a 30% boost in horsepower, owing to a modified exhaust manifold/catalytic converter unit and sundry hacking of the ECU computer — providing "improved combustion in the upper rotational speed range" — bringing horsepower to 298 for the 3.5-liter V6 and 420 for the 5-liter V8. Vmax for cars with either engine is uprated to 174 mph. A supercharged version is good for 516 hp and 205 mph. Or it comes with extra pants, we're not sure.

<![CDATA[Cadillac Tunes: More Beef in the Works?]]>

A couple of our favorite Cadillac tunes: "Long White Cadillac" by the Blasters and the Clash's rendition of "Brand New Cadillac" by Vince Taylor. Cadillac's favorite tuners? Brabus, McLaren, Lorinser and Dinan, at least if we're to believe the folks who report the news from the left lane. Apparently, the Cads are considering farming out models to tuners of European cars because, well, "Mallett" just doesn't sound sophisticated enough. Rumor has it that they're also considering a Super-V model of CTS, powered by the LS7. Man, the headlights shine, and the highway fades to black... [Thanks to Sebastian for the tip.]

<![CDATA[Lorinser Introduces Mercedes E-Class Stretch Limousine]]>

German tuning and body-mod house (no, not the kind that implants devil horn bumps in people's heads) Lorinser created a Mercedes E-Class stretch limo that's more than a yard longer than the base model. The stretch includes and added center row of seats (airport-bus style), as well as cosmetic tweaks including a body kit, 20" wheels and various attached spoilerage. All that's missing is a twin-turbo, AMG-tuned powerplant. But then, you'd need a driveshaft the size of a pole-vault pole to get that kind of power to the rear wheels. And oh, the torque. No, it wouldn't be pretty.
