2009 Jaguar XF-R Powerslides Up The Hill At Goodwood
With a suspected 5.0-liter supercharged V8 making around 500 HP, the 2009 Jaguar XF-R has no trouble smoking its tires. The black cat crossed the path of spectators at this weekend's Goodwood Festival Of Speed, where Jaguar head of vehicle development Mike Cross power-slid the car up the hill. Nothing better than a bit of hoonage to properly show off a car during its first official public appearance. Even if we're told by the folks at GTSpirit people barely seemed to even notice it at all. We think they'll notice it at the official unveil of the super-cat, which we're hearing will be at the British Motor Show later this month. UPDATE: Thanks to tipster Tom, who had a chance to speak to Mike Cross, we've got a few photos of the front showing the best and clearest shots yet of the catty beast after the jump. They totally need to offer that mask as a check box option, don't they? More » -

2009 Ford Focus RS Concept; Don't Make It Angry
We finally have some leaked shots of the Ford Focus RS ahead of the London Motor Show, and we're green with envy at any Europeans lucky enough to get the real version when it comes out. Unless it's in the same weirdo neon green as the concept. We know the new RS Focus will generate more than 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque from the 2.5-liter Duratec inline five, which should be good for a 0-60 mph time in under six seconds. And that's only the start. More » -

2009 Opel Insignia Revealed Early, Sans Carefully Placed Tape
It's a shame the folks at Opel went through all that trouble to tape up the 2009 Opel Insignia, just to have the cover blown a few days later by the crew at AutoWeek.nl. Here it is, your future Opel Insignia in all its watermarked glory. Why should you care? This curvy sedan is likely to be the new Saturn Aura sometime down the line. The Insignia is scheduled for a big public unveiling at the London Motor Show in July with full details coming in a few days. More » -

Nissan Qashqai+2 Revealed Ahead Of London Motor Show
Nissan has issued the first pictures of its new seven-seater crossover vehicle that takes the Qashqai and cranks the knob up by "+2." That's right, it's called the Qashqai+2, an all-new bigger Qashqai that seats two more than the original model of the strangely-named CUV. Nissan accomplishes the increased room by upping the wheelbase size from the 103.5 inches found in the Qashqai to 108.86 inches and the overall length from 169.7 inches to 178.2 inches. The new Qashqai+2 will be launched at the London Motor Show in July and comes to UK showrooms in the autumn. No word yet on whether we'll see the new crossover from the Japanese side of Carlos Ghosn's global partnership of equals, but we truly doubt it because despite the Qashqai being named after a nomadic people in Iran, the CUV has traveled pretty much only throughout the nations of Europe. Still, bully for Nissan for bucking trends by moving super size in a world where that's making increasingly less sense. Full press release after the jump. More » -

Saab's 1-Series Mini-Fighter To Debut in London
The folks at Trollhättan are not content to let their counterparts at Audi, BMW, Volvo &mdash pretty much every European luxury counterpart &mdash dominate the upscale small car market. Thus we hear they'll be introducing a concept version of the 9-1 entry level vehicle at London that will be "sporty enough to fit the Saab character" with the "functionality to attract younger buyers." Whatever that means. More »
