Of course, this is, like all cars today, really boring to drive.

Back in my day, there was no CPSC, and there was some real hoonmobiles out there.

There's got to be a lot of garage sale "fixer-uppers" out there. So, what's the purchase price limit gonna be for the LeMons Cozy-Coupe-A-Loosa?

Like most of my generation, I had one of these. It was supplemented with, then supplanted by (as I grew) a wooden wagon. That wagon took a real beating; it ended up with a Radio Flyer front axle/handle replacing the original wooden one.

I picked up a used one back in '88. Whitewalls, wire wheels and back then they had keyless ignition (new feature my ass). Seller even threw in a gas pump in case I needed to fill up.

Tough little car. It took my abuse for three years before I sold it to some punk kid. I bet it's still tooling around town somewhere, on it's tenth owner by now. Maybe someday it'll show up on DOTS (Down on the Sidewalk).

I had a Cozy Coupe for a while, but after the paint faded, the instrument panel fell off, and rust started to get the best of some of the structure, I sidelined it and picked up one of these.

Mine didn't have the side decal applique package or the work box option, and it used exactly the same engine as the Coupe (although it had become steadily more powerful over the years), but it never broke down on me.

This was by far my favorite toy as a kid. Bonus points for anyone who can identify the car in the background.

@Pete Gaines: Going out on a limb here, but it looks like a second gen Honda Accord (83-86?). It's a little murky in that corner, so I can't quite tell.

I put my son's kit together last Thursday. Ours has a yellow roof. He likes to take it to pretty much every room he enters, often while singing.

Nothing gets you out of bed quicker than a Cosy Coupe tumbling down the stairs on a Sunday morning. I'm just glad he wasn't in it and nobody was at the bottom.

When I was little, I wanted a Cozy Coupe SO BAD, but never got one.

However, at the age of 7, I got a Power Wheels Bigfoot, which calmed me down a lot. That thing was super badass.

Put just ONE fat kid in it and watch those front wheels go positive camber. It totally screws up the tracking, cornering, and on-center feel.
