"Does anyone honestly believe that Glock slowed down on purpose to hand the championship to Hamilton? Take into account his intermediate tyres and his teammate's laptimes on the same tyres." Acknowledgedly, the form of the question probably betrays my opinion on the matter.
I also must admit that during the race I was afraid that Vettel (Ferrari engines, remember?) was going to punt Hamilton off the track, but once the excitement settled down all such thoughts seemed vaguely ridiculous. I did feel prescient at the end, after having called Vettel "today's wild card" right at the beginning, when he got reeeally close to Kovalainen's rear end.

So it's two titles then? I didn't know that. Actually I'm relieved now. Hamilton is just not my cup of tea, to say the least.

Those of us beyond old and infirm and well into decrepitude will tell you about Dan Gurney, Jim Clark, Phil Hill and Graham Hill.

Now if someone will just overcome the applicable laws of physics, we'll be off.

For anything controversial that he has done on the race track, I can think of moves that are more so, that were performed by Ayton Senna and Michael Schumacher. From the criticism that he inspires, I cant help but think that a certain proportion are racialist motivated.

Like Björn Kristian Ulvaeus said:
The winner takes it all, the loser has to fall.

Since I don't follow F1, I couldn't even tell you who the drivers are, let alone who should have won. I also can't tell you who the drivers are in NASCAR, or in WRC, since I refuse to pay any extra to get any coverage of motoring events on the tube.

and also the ferrari pit light system replacing the good 'ole lollipop. that worked well.

Anyhow, hopefully Alonso's Renault will be fast enough next year to provide him another victory.
I would love to see what Hamilton would do with a lesser car, so as to get a real idea of his capabilities.

where is this wonderful, magical place where the bars show F1 races?

i'm in the states, land of nascar, and occasionally, indy. unfortunately, most of the F1 races begin before noon. and because i'm in michigan, alcohol cannot be sold before noon on sunday, because it makes the christians cry or something. after two years of searching for a bar that shows the races that *do* begin after noon, i have given up. i should move to yurp for the F1 season, i'm tired of having race coverage interrupted every 10 minutes by "male enhancement" and "saved by zero" commercials.

ah, new york. i should have guessed :)
i assumed there were places in the states where F1 fans converge to watch the races, kind of like a super secret "fight club" for racing fans.
