C'mon, what a joke! A 4.0 liter V6 that makes 210 HP?!? The japanese V6's are smaller, more efficient and make 30% more power. The Mustang V6 should make 300HP and the V8 should make close to 400HP for me to start saying "WOW". This is why Detroit auto makers can't sell cars! (I live in Metro-Detroit and my livelyhood depends on these guys, that's why i'm so ticked-off!)

I was behind about half a dozen of these two days ago, on my way to work. All of which had manufacturer plates. It was still dark at that time of morning in southeast Michigan, so I really only got a good look at the taillights. They were unmistakably "Mustang", but something was "different".

Anywho, I haven't been keeping up with all of the press releases of the new Mustang (I mean, who has that kind of time?), but are the sequential indicators now standard? I couldn't help but notice that the two that changed lanes while I was in a position to see the back side had sequentials, and damned if something so silly doesn't immediately draw your attention.

And respect goes to those two Mustang drivers for actually using their turn signals to change lanes.

Oh yeah, nice write up, Wes. You've put the 2010 Mustang on the list of cars to look for in 2020.

You know what? Ford got this shit right for once.

They took an old-n-busted car that was a poster child for Detroit lagging behind, the current-gen Mustang, and fixed it.

They didn't spend billions on a new platform. They cut costs, but spent cash in all the right places. Too little too late? Probably. But damn, that's how to put lipstick on a fucking pig and make it work.

@Pete Gaines: I agree 98.9%. I think the nose is now droopy and looks funny, but otherwise, I think Ford has done an excellent job, in spite of all the shit and abuse I throw at them because it's funny.

I also suspect that Mr. Gaines has been dipping into the beverages tonight.

Don't get me wrong Wes, because I know you have to report on everything, but what is the obsession with the quality of the plastics in a car? Especially a car like this?

As long as the few pieces my body comes into contact with regularly are soft (and every piece has good UV resistance), I want the lightest stuff possible. I can't see the logic behind a soft touch dash. Unless fancy soft touch is indeed lighter.

@Parramore64: I really dislike soft-touch interiors, they're difficult to clean. I loved how easy to clean the hard plastic of my 1980's cars were.

The dashboard is a stupid place to make soft (especially the top of it). You're not going to be resting your hands on it (frequently) or leaning your head against it or sitting on it. Though I guess a soft touch dash is nice in a collision if you're not wearing a seatbelt.

UV resistance is a big deal, too.

Thus, the Brazilian subsidiary, which accounts for 60% of profit in South America, will not send any more penny to Dearborn. Until September, Ford had overall loss of $ 3.78 billion, while in Brazil its profit was $ 1.12 billion! Why would they choose to disassociate from South America now?

Nice job Wes. At $1,495 the Track Pack sounds like a must-have selection of make-better parts. Glad Ford has been spending time making the Mustang do things like corner and grip better, and didn't just give it the fancy footwell lighting treatment.
