@damnelantra™: My father in law spent sixty-something thousand on a Mercedes about a year ago, then promptly discovered that it had an iPod interface in the glovebox. He bought an iPod the next day.

I wonder if that counts as a "You're doing it wrong" event.

As a Range Rover owner and Land Rover enthusiast I can say I expect nothing from this concept. I saw the Stormer with all it's amazingness, and it became that anesthesia on wheels that is the RR Sport.

As a previous owner of a Land Rover, what I appreciate most about them is that you often sell them with relatively low mileage for the year.

This is often due to the fact that they spend more time on a lift, than on the road, but all in all it is still a benefit.

The ePRS (US Patent No. c11077983) provide us with this nugget of goodness:

Land Rover, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, has received a grant from Her Majesty's Government to build smallest, lightest, most efficient car ever, the Range Rover LRX.

Land Rover promptly spent the grant money on a feasibility study and a big party in Dublin.

@engineerd the Preview-free edition: They're also spending a lot on lean 6 Sigma: a couple of RFPs went out recently for some massive looking projects.

@tekamul: Yes, and I know some of the vultures circling that carcass. Their mood is: let's take some Tata money while it's still around.

"The grant offer will be made available under the Government's Grant for Business Investment scheme..."

Dear UK gov't: I am a wealthy foreigner in need of help moving millions of dollars from my homeland for business investment purposes. For your assistance, I promise you a hefty portion of my wealth.

    all-round capability

Well, it's definitely very smoothed-out. More of a soft-trapezoidal capability, IMO.

So they'd have this in addition to the Freelander? And what ever happened to Freelander in the US? I guess cute-ute doesn't work when your vehicles are trying to look more manly and upscale rugged.
