Why buy this when a genuine Lambo is only 84000?

    [cgi.ebay.com]

I guess a more basic question is:

    Why?

You know how earlier in the week, I said I like the wedge shape for cars? Well this car, along with the TVR Tasmin and any Fiero-rarri or -ghini prove to be the exceptions.

Nope, it doesnt work. These kits are only allowed on mediocre cars from the 80's. No 00's decent sports cars allowed.

I'm thinking of being a guido jersey douchebag for halloween and this car would fit so perfectly the price seems absolutely reasonable for the purpose.

This is like the last few minutes in The Godfather when the door is closing on Michael Corleone to show he's really part of the family now. Likewise, the Solstice has taken its place as the Fiero's successor.

It's not the ugliest car I've ever seen.

It is however uglier than the car it's meant to emulate.

Worse still, it is uglier than the car on which it was built.

Sadly this story is all too common: Take a nice $25k car. Spend a lot of money removing all remnants of good taste. Have a delusion that it's somehow worth twice what you have into it when you're done.

Does anyone else see a Solstice in a parking lot and immediately think "aging swinger"?

@SuzanneD: Interesting... but no. I generally just think to myself that they should have bought a used S2000.

Wouldn't bein an aging swinger indicate that he needs the car to pull tail so to speak? Does a Solstice really attract ladies? (and I don't mean an attraction as in maybe they want to buy it because that used hopped-up Miata they just test drove scared them)

I'm not sure I want to turn my Lamborghini into a Solstice. Then again, this looks much better, more like a Solara...

    So. Many. Spelling errors!

Possibly, when he emerges from his dreamlike state, opens his eyes and wipes away the sleep, he'll pick up that copy of EVO which just flops open at the Lamborghini feature, and then suddenly feel a pain in the pit of his stomach.

He will then go outside, wander around the car several times, squinting, looking for that one angle that the car really looks like a Lambo.

But he can't. He's done 5 laps of it now, at one point he thought he may have found the magic angle, from just off the rear three quarters, but then he saw the roofline, and the tears welled up.

No, the only choice he would have is if somebody saw the love and attention he'd put into it, sympathised with his obvious spelling dichotomy, and, well, liked the colour.

Until then, Yes, maybe Nick Hogan will put an offer in.

    While high on crack.
