I shot the video and there was no voice over. It was my self and one other guy yelling "oohh NNnnOooo" and when you slow the video, that's what I got. Made me laugh so I did not overdub music and though I would just let the sound roll. More video to come later.
I can't believe they haven't flattened that hill out. It has to be one of the most dangerous turns on any track. It's artificial, so the side slope is very abrupt, there's no side runoff. I've seen many cars roll there.
FYI, the V8lvo went off course and smacked into the back of the Mad Max Supra on the lap before the 'Teg rolled. Luckily it wasn't later in the race, or else the Swedish brick would have been black flagged, although flipping your car is a bigger offense.
Win it or bin it, huh? I can see how this can happen. I saw a few folks on the track nearly roll a couple of times at CMP, mostly due to getting off onto the rumble strips or dipping a tire off the track.
Glad it ended well with lots of smiles. To me Lemons is about crap cars, hard racing and lots of fun.
@SRekauqh: That's what it looked like to me. I never realized what an asset huge mounds of dust around a central valley race track could be though. Usually I'm cursing the stuff as it blows around. Looks like it saved his nagahyde this time.
Wow, Lemons is becoming just like NASCAR, with a yellow finish. What a gift to the V8lvo. Should have added on a couple of laps and gone for the green and white checkered.
Glad no one was injured, and the damage doesn't look so bad. I'm sure you'll pull it out and deliver a Big Sausage win next time, boys. Best to keep your champagne on ice until then. Wouldn't want any premature celebration.
I am glad to see that drifting won't get you very far at Lemons.
That's gotta be a wild ride. I've never been off at a track day(Expensive machines that don't belong to me) so I can only imagine what its like to roll in the middle of a heated race. The adrenaline must have been off the charts.
Not to be cynical but if you're looking to dodge The People's Curse in a later race, this is a way to do it. "Look at that poor bastard drivin his heart out, he went ass over teakettle for about a hundred yards two months ago, we can't curse him."
@lilwillie hides autos in the attic:
Yep, that was my Oh no.
As for the zooming we were over 200 yards away and he was hand holding that camera trying to watch, while we listened to their radio. He tapped the shark BMW that got him light and he had no grip as he drifted over the top of the hill and,,, well, there ya go.
It was a freaky 15 seconds since he wasn't on radio and we were sitting right next to the team. It was great to see him get out safely.
What a race!

Co-driver's might be fun, too.
Driver: "How many wheels are we missing?"
Co-driver: "Don't know right now but when the crowd rolls us upright, it'll be obvious."

Lost Hill is the most fun turn of the track if you get it right. Great place to pass too.
