I'm surprised there aren't any dealerships in California (yet). Fisker is from Irvine, I believe, and there are plenty of greenies with lots of loose change for toys such as this in the Bay Area and SoCal.

And to those of you who think Tesla is a failure, know that their Menlo Park store can't stock 'em fast enough, and I saw roughly one a day when I was home for a month on winter break. The company itself still isn't out of the woods yet, but they've delivered a couple hundred cars by now, so you can't claim that they're peddling vaporware anymore.

Portland seems like a good choice: they have money, love technology and have that special Pacific-northwest sense of style...

/ may I suggest a special "flannel edition"?

Hey, good for them. Still fucking ugly though. Think they might have a bit more success if they designed it to, you know, not cause you to dry-heave?

Okay, I exaggerate, but the nose is awful, and it looks like it's sagging in the middle. Reminds me a little of Denise Richards...

How much capital investment does an existing multi-make dealer really need to front for this? It's not like they are building a standalone Fisker dealer, banking on the vehicles coming to fruition.

It's like they said, "we have an existing infrastructure, and we can cram one of your cars somewhere in the showroom, when and if you send us one...sure, we'll be a dealer."

@smalleyxb122: Sounds like a much better strategy than say, building a bunch of standalone dealerships for cars which are already completely sold out and/or have no hope of existing.

I'm opening the world's first unicorn dealership. Through an amazing process of finding unicorn DNA in mosquitos covered in sap, we have successfully cloned unicorns, and now can deliver you a unique pet for your brat. Now accepting $25,000 deposits through Paypal.

Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for a union-built Unicorn that will be overweight and overly safe and, therefore, no fun.

Ugh. This must have been in a long term planning type phase, because the economy is no better here than in most other places at the moment.

Still we do have a surprising number of exotic dealerships around here considering PDX is fairly small for a "big city" and a lot more sedate than most big cities as well.

I have seen a couple of GTs' and Ferraris', lots of Maseratis' but no Lambos and only one Bently (Trailblazer car).

Kind of expected this to happen, didn't seem like Tesla had much solid evidence entering into this case. But this petty fight doesn't amount to much anyways.

Apparently Tesla just got an additional $40 million of investment so they can start churning out those Roadsters at full speed and even continue work on Model S. Should be exciting with the Karma, Model S, Volt, all coming out in similar time frames.

I know the speculative photo of Road & Track doesn't represent Model S at all, but I think it looks tons better than the Karma (given the mustache, without it I might reconsider):

So the big question is who's going to win the rich uneducated celebrity/rich guy who only wants to make a fashion statement with his eco-friendly car vote? Let's check the polls, and dont forget there is a 2-3% variance.

It seems the Tesla gets more of the democratic segment due to it's being completely electric. Republicans seem to favor the Fisker due to it's ability to hold 3 more people to brag about your car to in. Independants are undecided, some citing neither candidates dedication to 1 issue.

Those who aren't voting cite not giving a damn about either candidate or having the money to buy either. They also tend not to give a damn about who sees them in the vehicles.

At this junction it is too close to call. We'll have to wait until the poll's close. This one will come down to the wire folks.

I'm glad that Fisker has come out ahead in this sideshow.

Fisker came up with a uniquely styled sedan rather than just a revamped Elise. And the Fisker concept I saw at the Detroit Auto Show was very nice looking. If you're going to rework my Elise then give me the Rinspeed Squba, thank you.

Now, I really hope they're able to make more than just promises, like maybe some saleable vehicles.
