    Given two million dollars, I would buy a ZR1, spend 10 or 20 grand getting a nice custom interior for it (nothing flashy, just quality materials) and spend the rest on a nice house.

    On a somewhat related note, I saw a ZR1 in person for the first time on Sunday and I almost missed it: it passed me in town (I was ridding my bicycle), so I did not notice the hood sky light. Just as it rounded a corner, I noticed the ZR1 badge. I think it would make a nice daily driver...

    Hmm.. So after all that, you give the interior nod to the Mantide and don't decide the exterior? Man up and grow a pair. I wanted to read your opinion. Mine is simple.. I'll take the ZR-1. There's a lot of cars that are better looking than the Mantide for less than 2 million. However if money was no issue, I still wouldn't go for it. I don't like those wheel arches. They destroy the look of the car in my opinion. For two million, I want to love every aspect of my one-off supercar, there should be no compromises at that price range for me. So there's my opinion Jalopnik... Wheres Yours?

    It's a practical joke, right? There was an evening of heaving drinking at Bertone, and someone started talking about how they could sell anything, no matter how hideous, if it was either a) fast enough or b) exclusive enough, and someone else argued that there were lines of taste that nobody would cross, and pretty soon there was a bet going, and this thing was commissioned, and now a dozen donuts are riding on how many suckers buy it? They aren't really going to make this, are they?

    I loathe Corvettes. That's just me. I love Italian cars. The Mantide really fits neither category. I want it about little as possible. It is all a bit too overdone, whereas the ZR1 doesn't try to hide that it's hotted up 'vette.


    So here's to saving $1.9 million and buying a car that doesn't try to look like more than it is.

    I'll take the ZR1. The interior may be chintzy, but that's often the case on these fancy super cars. They're supposed to be all about performance. I mean, look at the dash on this F40:



    No stereo, no cupholders, and certainly no aux inputs! Gasp!

    I've never been a Vette fan, but I love the new ZR-1 and would buy one.


    Actually, I like all of the current-gen vettes.


    How much would it cost me if I bought a Mantide, to have them tunr it back into a ZR-1, interior and all?


    Would it still be a Mantide?

    I'd say just buy 20 ZR1's and be the most popular guy in town. Or the world.


    Or hell, a ZR1 and an Enzo and a beater old Miata for your everyday car.


    Or even better, a ZR1, and just about every other car you've ever wanted. Ever. All of them. (Except the Mantide)

    I don't know if it's just me, but the interior of the Vette actually looked better. I love alcantara interior when it is done well, such as in the GT3, but it just seems a bit...Well, bad. Also, Mantide written in big red letters on your dashboard isn't very cool to me.


    On another note, I believe that the Corvette's exterior is better than the Mantide's. While the Corvette may not be popular in Europe, and I've never seen a Mantide in person, (And probably never will) judging from pictures, it's ugly.

    In conclusion, ZR1>Mantide.

    @MOPAR-MAN: No no, it's a pokemon. It's the evolved form of Mantyke. When you level up your ZR1 enough while some italian guy is in your party, it becomes Mantide.
