Nobody noticed the Powerglide column shifter on a GTO? How rare are those today?

I am the only one who Wangers rubs the wrong way? When I see interviews with him on car shows, he just seems.... I don't know, unlikable.

Perhaps it's that he does come across as an adman and not a die-hard enthusiast like us.

@Ambiguously Strolling Player: That is just it! I stand firm in my belief the glory days of passion from Detroit was a period between 1984 and 1991. While I like Big Block Muscle as much as the next guy, I do not have the same respect for the original Mustang or GTO that I do for the 1986 Taurus and 1984 Tempo. Any automaker can make a big engine mated to a three speed automatic, it takes a little bit of work to get over 200HP power from an engine that in 1965 would have made two digit power figures. I'm looking at you, straight six Firebird.

Neither of these is likely to have been the love of anyone's life, but for hell, choose the Pontiac--if only because the seller is delusional and secretly hoping he could bag 15k or even 20k for this rare creature. And if he's that delusional, who knows what else he might have missed? Bound to be hellish just cutting a deal with him.
On the other hand, that appears to be a fine old Merc next to the Mustang. Wonder what Arkansas wants for it?

Can Am all the way. Take it with a grain of salt, but Wikipedia claims the Can Am was originally planned as a revival of the GTO.

The Can-Am still has the made-of-unobtanium rear spoiler, so it's not quite hellish. But I'd still take it over the Mustang, despite the fact that I'm a Ford guy.

Well, to choose, I'd have to balance the fact that the Mustang is a moldy shitheap that's undoubtedly been used as a lovenest by a pack of raccoons, with my feeling (engendered by '80s-vintage Buicks mostly, admittedly) that GM can kiss my fuzzy pink ass, unless we're talking '67 Malibu wagon or some such....Hmmmm......

Nope, Rustang Too wins. Shove it up your Can Am, GM.

I voted for the crap can Can Am because it's obvious the seller believes it's value and collectability are closer to that of a Ferrari GTO than its Pontiac brother. I still crave it though...
