Mayfield was suspended a few weeks back, but NASCAR never confirmed what the substance was that got him suspended. Says he took a double dose of Claritin (ironically the official allergy medicine of NASCAR) during the Richmond weekend because of bad allergies, but his other claim was that he was taking Adderall for supposed ADD.
The Claritin I could halfway understand, but the Adderall?? Dude's a little old to be taking Adderall for ADD.

"Mayfield is doing donuts on the front straight with 50 laps to go!"

But, I digress... Because to be completely honest, I don't see the point in NASCAR as it is currently anyways. It seems nothing more than a clever advertising ploy, and little more. Nothing stock about the cars, very little technology that serves to better production vehicles, and politics that seem to be becoming more and more prevelant with each passing season. I'll take LeMons instead. Seems more like racing for the right reasons there. For the sport of it...

I don't know the chemistry behind it, but I heard he was claiming it was "allergy medicine". Meth is made from Sudafed, so is this plausable at all?

My Great Grandpa got 2 years in Waupan Federal for running 'Shine. Prohibition was good money for the family back in the day.
Just like Na$car, it ain't illegal if you ain't caught.
So they've stepped up to Meth in the South. Does that make Moonshine the gateway drug to Meth?

No first hand experience with any of this, just what I read in the news and hear from cop friends.

Having taken too much ritalin by accident before (I once forgot I'd already taken em and took my dose twice and got all tweekered out) and found that my judgement was lacking and though I was focused, I didn't drive better than I did without any methylphenidate in my system.
And Scott Speed continues to suck (and shit himself)
