    @engineerd: Unregular's not a troll. He's just minimally-dimensional, really. I'd say he's like my dog when it comes to tennis balls, but since she also does frisbee, agility, and basic herding, enjoys both hot weather AND cold weather, and pees and poops on command, all while profoundly understanding the concept of "Relax"..... well, that's where the comparison ends.

    @beercheck: As someone who identified himself as a republican until about 2003, then pretty much gave up on the whole thing, I'm getting a kick out of Obama being president.


    After all, we spent ~6 years listening to leftist bitching, and really it's refreshing to hear from an entirely different group of angry politically active people.


    I don't think Obama's The One or any such nonsense, but I will say that I'll gladly take the mistakes he's going to make over GWB's or McCain's.


    And for the record, Bush was a barely grown up douchebag frat guy with a sith lord for a VP who drove this country's reputation into the ground and failed to grasp the complexities of the duties of his job better than a stoned 16 year old could've.

Next it took GW 8 years and a war to spend a trillion, Obama took about 3 months to do the same.     @Trembler: Just to point out, what you attribute to WJC was actually Jimmy Carter's baby. Also that program was designed to get the working poor into homes, not to put social climbing dipshits into fancy houses that they couldn't afford. That particular innovation came about when the assholes who write these loans decided that they could make long green off the dipshits. This, combined with the increasingly shady financial instruments created by scum-sucking shitbags who figured they could cash out before the shit hit the fan and be sunning themselves in the Bahamas with a pile of cash when the bills came due is more to blame than anything else I've seen or heard about. Putting this mess in Clinton's lap is misguided party-line dittoism at best and intentional bullshit at worst.

    @I may have a 35 mile commute with my beater Mercedes: Diplomatic immunity is worth exactly shit when the tow yard already has your car. Besides, the time to raise that issue would have been when the tickets were issued, not after they've gone into default and the vehicle has been towed.
