Shia LaBeouf's Passenger During Alleged DUI-Related Accident Was Transformers 2 Co-Star Isabel Lucas

The name of the passenger in Shia LeBeouf's alleged DUI accident in LA this weekend wasn't initially released: Turns out it was Transformers 2 co-star and Aussie hottie Isabel Lucas. If you happen to be Shia "The Beef," and find yourself inexplicably famous after last summer's Transformers movie and this summer's horrible crap-fest Indiana Jones flick, you'd be aiming high on the lady ladder too. Oh Beef, you know Megan Fox is going to be all jealous now, stewing on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. She'll probably throw herself at you, even though you never had a chance with Isabel. You sly, sly fox. [TFW2005]

2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe Revealed Live In New York

We saw it in the flesh a couple weeks ago and were sworn to secrecy, we revealed the explosion of pics and press release at midnight today, but now we've got live and in the flesh shots of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe. The targa-topped coupe sure is sleek in its fine new enclosed coupe styling, and there was a bit of the swoon on in the room when it was unveiled. The coupe gets the same Ecotec powertrain options from the original style 2.4L with 173 HP as well as the GXP hoontastic 260 HP 2.0L turbo mill. Its possible we're slightly disappointed GM didn't go all out with T-tops, but beggers can't be choosers. We'll be getting the full compliment of live shots up as soon as we can.

2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe Brings Transformer Back To Life

You knew him as Jazz before he was so handily destroyed — ripped asunder, really — by Megatron. You also knew him as the Pontiac Solstice. But that never quite fit, did it — because he wasn't a convertible in the movie. Well, now he's been truly revealed as a production model, and most importantly as a coupe — the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe to be exact. Yes, that's right, the absolutely gorgeous alt-mode of the Autobot recon man's been brought back to live in a fully production targa-topped coupe — and what else can we say other than we're having a very private robogasm right now — especially over the lines of this sleek little two-seater. Full press release after the jump.

2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe Revealed Early On Pontiac Web Site

Maybe they'll be changing the name of the "GM display" at the New York Auto Show this week to the "Pontiac display." All we know is they'll be doing a lot of driving excitement at the show. We've already revealed the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP and more importantly, the 2010 Pontiac G8 "El Camino" sport truck. Now they've accidentally revealed the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe in an ad button on the official Pontiac site — further confirming what we'd already told you about the targa-topped Solstice coupe. Awww...poor Pontiac. Well, there had to be a misstep somewhere — and accidentally revealing a hot little tamale like a coupe-roofed Solstice ain't a bad way to misstep. Since we've seen this hard removable-topped coupe in person we can say... More »

Transformers Movie Update: We Have An Exclusive Robogasm With Ironhide, Bumblebee, Jazz And Ratchet

The General took four robots in disguise to the GM Riverwalk this afternoon to show them off in all their vehicular glory and gave us the exclusive look at all of them — before they're sent out west to californicate with the stars at the premiere. Although we weren't allowed to drive or even touch the GMC TopKick (Ironhide), Camaro concept car (Bumblebee), Solstice (Jazz) and Hummer (Ratchet) making up the four Autobot alt-vehicle modes owned by GM, we did find a way to make sure Jalopnik got a chance to sorta touch at least one of them. Check out our galleries of the hot car-robot action in our four galleries below. More »

Transformers Movie Update: Pontiac Builds Excitement With High-Res Pics Of Jazz, Megan Fox

Yesterday's shotgun blast of shots wasn't quite enough to sate the PR machine, as it seems the marketing blitz surrounding the new live-action Transformers movie continues unabated with new shots via Maxim and their three-way promotional deal with General Motors and Paramount. They're the first high-res shots of the Autobot Jazz in both his Pontiac Solstice form as well as his rockin' robot look. Take a gander via the gallery below. More »

Transformers Toys For Tots: Barricade, Brawl, Jazz And...Wreckage?

Well, it's Friday and we're feeling a bit of a hankering for some Transformers action, and our fave fan-boy site on all things 'formers is all about the toys today, scoring not only pictures of the Pontiac Solstice-bodied Jazz, the Saleen Mustang-bodied Barricade and the Abrams Battle Tank-bodied Brawl — but also some pics of a not-yet-seen and until-now not-yet-named Decepticon by the name of Wreckage. Wreck-Gar? No — Wreckage. We've no idea what he is — although he does appear to be some kind of military vehicle like an armored personnel vehicel. We've also no idea what his role in the movie will be, but hey — good find on TFW2005's part. But that's not all we've got. We also managed to snag some clear-as-daylight PR pictures of the toy version of the Decepticon baddie known as Blackout in all of his MH-53 Pave Low blade-filled glory. The Transformers in a box gallery, sans Adam Sandberg and Justin Timberlake is first and the Blackout gallery is below that. And with that, our craving for Transformers tchotchkes has been satisfied for the moment. But if yours isn't, feel free to check out or tag page and our gallery for more to get your fix. More »

    Spy Photos: Next Honda Fit?

The UK's AutoExpress serendipitously rolled up on a test model of the new Honda Jazz, which is the rest-of-world's Fit. The new model — set for a Tokyo motor show debut later this year — looks to be slightly larger than the current one, though built on the same architecture, which means more people room in subcompactland. We'll probably get the new Fitness in 2009. More »

Transformers Live-Action Movie Update: Jazz Is Driving Excitement And Ratchet's Hummer Gets A Robot Mode

Well, it's been a while since we last updated folks on what the interwebs have been abuzz with — Transformers movie leakage. We're more than happy to give you folks an update courtesy of the nice young fan-boys over at TFW2005 — who've come up with some great sketches of two Autobots — Jazz and Ratchet. We've sneak-peeked Jazz above, and showed off how even if Pontiac's not driving excitement so much anymore, he's still showing off that Pontiac arrowhead logo, front-and-center. Pontiac had better hope Mr. Jazz makes it through the movie alive, or else there's going to be much talk (at least here there will be) of how it'll be serving as an analogy for the brand. Also, we've got Hummer-licious Ratchet below the jump and a screen-cap of a scene from the new film picked up from the folks at AintItCoolNews. Hit the jump for the fun. Remember, if you want to keep up to date — there's always our Transformers tag and to keep up visually, there's always the Transformers gallery. More »

Ad Watch: Tetrisized! German Honda Jazz Ad Jams To Nintendo Game

We still remember getting that Game Boy when we were just a wee lad. We still remember those 8-bit graphics, the green and darker green colors and the non-background lit screen. When we first lay our hands upon that brick of a portable game system, we knew we were in love. That's because it represented freedom from the only place we had been allowed to play video games, the cramped confines of our basement. But also, because it had Tetris, and we instantly fell in love with the addiction of moving those little brick-blocks into 4-line Tetris combos — just to beat our linked-up block buddies. It looks like even German kids must have felt the same way about it — because Honda's aiming the newest advert for the Euro hot hatch directly at the Game Boy nostalgia with this ad, demonstrating the merits of efficient use of space.
