Riding a motorcycle on ice is normally reserved for Swedes and Finns — and other citizens of the Vodka Belt — riding four-stroke Jawas on frozen lakes with studded tires, in between swigs of akvavit, chilled by trackside. At least, that's how I picture it.

Let's say you find yourself at a motorcycle race without a motorcycle. Who should you ask to borrow one? Why not start with the crazy old man on the flat track chopper in a leather flying helmet and antique glass goggles. Yeah, that's a solid choice.
