We all love Aston Martin, and dream of owning one some day. But in reality, does Aston Martin need to survive, and will they really be missed if they go under? It will be one less competitor to Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, and Maserati.

Hmmm, a funny thing just occurred to me while recalling Aston competition. It seems that there is no real competition from the Americans, Japanese (unless you count the GT-R), or the Koreans. Funny how things turn out.

Fast forward to late 2008 and Investment Dar was itself trying to borrow $1B (£630m) to refinance debt, and iteven defaulted on a $100m Islamic bond in April.

...That's a fatwad of cash.
