Why don't automobile manufacturers just come out honest and tell design students that all of their works are crap and 90% won't get any jobs?

Seriously, I have no idea why automotive design education is so obsessed with "looking forward to future" and "out of box" designs when most can't even do basic beauty right. They all have have to have crap stance, crap sheetmetal treatments, crap nonsensical shapes and cuts to stand out. When did sheer beauty and gorgeousness become uninteresting?

That lead pic looks kind of like a dog getting ready to crap out whatever's small enough to fit in a back seat with no head- or foot-room.

This is the sort of crap that morons who don't even own a car come up with.
    F that.
    I don't want a polygon frog, I want a supercharged V8, turbo'd four, hi-comp V6, drifting, doughnut-ing, tire-shredding, long-hood, short-deck, flat-black, primer, World Rally Blue, wide-track, big-tired, nitrous'd, pavement-rupturing MACHINE.
Bollocks to intelligent emotion, I want Visceral Emotion.

I've been thinking that, with the economy the way it is, going back to school to get that other degree wouldn't be such a bad idea. Good bier in Munich, too.

So, erm... Audi's vision for the future is to crossbreed an R8 with a Q7? How fast will that go around the grass lining the 'ring?
