Murilee, did you get a chance to talk with the owner of the Maserati with the great patina? There's a great story behind how he got the car. Nibbles won't let me upload a picture of it from the California Melee, but you have my word that it went the whole way. #fiat
The dark blue Alfa that appears to have been rolled, or at least beaten up by a large angry creature, would be the coolest commuter. I really like that color. #fiat
@Novaload: That belongs to a guy I know. It was being driven along a levee and rolled off the side. He owns a restoration shop, so eventually it will be as good as new... I like it better the way it is. #fiat
@Armand: Me, too. That is just an amazing look-- the high Italian style, the color, and the battered hull. All kinds of character. What a lucky guy! #fiat
LeMons is taking over the car universe. We brought our LeMons Amazon to the EuroFest car show at the BMW plant in Greer, SC today. They REFUSED to let us show the car, so I parked it behind the Swedish section, just outside the show field. The whole time we were there, there was a crowd around the trailer. And we met several other LeMons racers there, too. #fiat
I like it all, but if I could have just one car out of all of the ones Murilee snapped pictures of, it would be the silver-grey Maserati with the appealing beater esthetic. That is a great car, and I like that it is actually being driven and not overrestored and only driven on and off a trailer. If I had that, I'd use it as a daily driver, purists be damned! #fiat
@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Yesterday, I had lunch with a guy who owned a moderately clapped-out Montreal in the '80s. He said that keeping the thing running was a nightmare, even then, but that standing back and looking at the car made it all worthwhile. #fiat
@Armand: That's what I've heard, too. Probably drives alright, too. But if you have to have a car taking up your garage, permanently under a tarp, this would be one of the ones to have. NACA ducts, vents, eyebrows... #fiat
@TimTim:
This Honda Supercharged K20A powered x1/9 has chased down a race prepped Corvette Z06 on slicks during a track day. It IS that fast.

The red car in last two photos intrigued me. Zooming in on it, I see that it is a Siata. After a quick search, I found that Siata was an Italian car company that closed its gates in 1970. One of their products is this 1953 Siata 208S, which I really like. #fiat
@skaycog: Isn't that a handsome devil! I have developed a new interest in hot Italians since belonging to Jalopnik--apart from the little Spyders, of course, who are impossible not to love. #fiat
@skaycog: Aaaaugh. Stop! Stop! Stop! You guys (and gals) keep digging up new beautiful cars that I've never, ever heard of. How can I ever keep up? Back to wikipedia... #fiat
driving the A112 on American roads at the same time as others are driving American cars requires a special portion of bravado. RESPECT. And keep enjoying it, whoever you are! #fiat
Aside from the crappy weather, that was an awesome show. Here are some pictures I took, including one of the Rambo Lambo. [karakullake.blogspot.com]#fiat
All those cars look like they have a story to tell! Very interesting cars indeed. Does any one know what the car in the second photo is called? I have seen them before, but can't remember the name, and also that little neon green car almost toward the end. I think it's a Fiat. #fiat
@Buickboy92: IIRC, I saw an Autobianchi or Abarth badge on it. I meant to take a picture of it because it was the first car that caught my attention. But all those OTHER cars distracted me. #fiat
