Saab is like the really, and I mean really, ugly daughter of the largest farm owner in the town. If you get with her, you get 600 million dollars or whatever, but she may kill you.

In reply to Obama Goes "Boom-Boom Pow" On South Korean-U.S. Auto Trade Agreements
Boom! The narcissistic arrogance of Barack Obama strikes again.

Maybe that's a little unfair, because I can picture Dubya making the same ridiculous pose. But, really, is there a country the rockstar-in-chief hasn't traveled to this year?

And, Ray, it's bad enough I can't go a whole day without seeing the guy's mug plastered all over TV, the interweb and half the magazines on the newsstand. Do I really have to deal with him here, too?

In reply to Obama Goes "Boom-Boom Pow" On South Korean-U.S. Auto Trade Agreements
If any of you "pro-Bamas" on this site bothered to read the link to The Korea Herald, you would see that the President is blaming poor sales of US cars in Korea on "trade barriers".

The real culprit, according to the article, is Korea's domestic auto taxation program that encourages "...consumption of smaller cars to reflect our national challenges, whether it be environmental or traffic-related."

The article states that the auto registration tax and special consumption tax were put in place to contain Korea's growing demand for bigger cars. I'm no fan of additional taxes, but this seems like a much smarter plan than "Cash For Clunkers".

Even the most ardent Obama supporters have to see the irony in the President bashing Korea for a domestic policy that discourages consumption of large, less fuel-efficient vehicles.

American manufacturers have proven for decades that they can't produce well-built small cars at a profit - even on their own soil - so is it any surprise they are having trouble in Korea?

Mr. President - stop carrying the water for the UAW. Getting Korea to buy a few more American cars will do very little, if anything, to lower Detroit's 25% unemployement rate.

@pres: Gimme a break dood. I've been to S. Korea. Not ONE US car there. Quit blaming US car companies for the trade imbalance. For one, Korean car companies don't have to pay billions in health care costs like US car companies do. But when this country is flooded w/cheap imports, you can't compete w/that either. And don't tell me that a Kia is a better car than a Chevy.

@ragtopdodge: @ phor11: I love the double standard. As soon as someone speaks out against your newly elected messiah, they get jumped on because everyone's skin is way too thin. Give me a damn break. I didn't like Bush for 8 years, I won't like Obummer for the remainder of his term and I definitely don't like wishey-washey Liberals with no sense of humor.

If you really want to play the blame game as to why we are where we are, look at Carter. Another buffoon whose policies opened the flood gates for everyone to live beyond their means. Or just look at everyone who was greedy and decided to live beyond their means in the first place.

You are aware that there were people in office before Bush, right? I thought that only had to be explained to iPod toting youngsters.

@pres: Way to go off on a nonsensical tirade there. You brought up the Bush administration, I elaborated as to why the Democrats would have spoken as they did during his administration.

Where exactly is there a double standard in that?

Your assumption that I'm a fanatical Obama supporter after 1 comment is as asinine as my assuming that you are Glenn Beck for posting in opposition to something Obama did.
