I forget who said it, but some bicycle racer once said, "You think these guys will stop doping because of some ethics code? These are men who have already decided that winning is worth their liver..."
I'm more concerned about performance enhancing surgery in the sport of tennis than this. Simona Halep states, "This fall I'll have a breast reduction operation. The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play. It's the weight that troubles me - my ability to react quickly."
This poor girl needs to be prevented from sullying the sport of tennis with performance enhancing medical procedures. She was the Junior French Open champ, so she has potential.
Kudos to breaking the rules yet staying within the rule book rules in motorsports, a looong tradition of that. But in tennis, there is the long tradition of young women in sweat drenched tops and short skirts making primal sounds. Just look to luminaries and champions of the sport like Steffi Graf, Mary Pierce, or the up and coming recent upset winner Agnes Szavay.
Is someone auditioning for a job w/MSNBC or Glibb's? Obviously taken out of context, Danica is a passionate racer who'd do damn near anything to win Indy, what REAL racer wouldn't? She also has one of the sweetest looking asses in professional motorsports.
@413wedge: Too true on being taken out of context... how many of us have said stupid shit like this that if taken out of context would make us sound like morons? Granted, she needs to be a little more circumspect in interviews, but if Paul Tracy said this, would there be as big a furor?
What drugs would enhance your performance in motorsports?
I can just think of; Meth-Ritalin (Increase of concentration?Wakefulness?) Provigil (Increase of wakefulness-no twitching) LSD (Heard it helps when pitching no-hitters)
If FromaBuick6 has to watch one more Chevy commercial, he's going to punch Howie Long in the face was starred

I love how this attitude is condemned, but everyone cheats. Imagine how much lower the unemployment rate would be if Wall Street wasn't full of cheaters.
Having been to a number of local hot rod/muscle car meet-ups since I was a wee lad, I am going to have to disagree with that. When it came time to beholding things that looked good draped over cars, there is a reason that I chose Hot Import Night events.
Okay, he's made of wood and from Calgary, which is practically part of the 'States, and nobody's actually seen him move or show any expression... but still! We have a Prime Minister!
And if it's imaginary, where do you think poutine comes from, hmm? HMM? Yeah, that's what I thought.
@engineerd: Man, our PM makes Al Gore look dynamic and exciting. By comparison, Al Gore looks like he's about to break into a Broadway Showtune, complete with jazz-hands and tap-dancing. You should look him up on YouTube. His name is either "Asshole" or "Our Saviour", depending on which province you're from.

@something_unique_and_descriptive: @SCROGGS!!: Even at our level of racing - if it's not specifically proscribed in the reg's, I'll try to find an advantage.

Her first statement, I disagree with. Not getting caught is not the line that defines what is or is not cheating.
Her talk of "gray areas" is less about blatant cheating, and more about stretching the boundaries by exploiting oversights in the rulebook.
Not getting caught using a banned substance is still cheating. Using a substance that is not explicitly outlawed (yet), is just savvy.
