    How has Hyundai's QC been lately? My only experiences with the company have been the small bunch of dumb problems my old roommate had with her Elantra, and that one time I sat in a Tiburon at the NY IAS. I'm interested in the Genesis for the same reasons other people are, but I'm still a bit skeptical of how "well made" they are.

    The cross-drilled aluminum shifter adds probably 5+ hp, but it keeps your palm from getting sweaty while your driving to the Blockbuster to flirt with the hottie behind the counter.

    Buschur Racing is going to support it.. verifies that it is infact a 4B11T (same as evo) and it can handle 29psi of boost.

    You know a while back when I said Hyundai is the new 80's toyota.. and toyota is the new 80's GM.. and GM is well dead..


    Welcome to the new AE86..


    Add to that the fact that it's a GEMA engine used for the 4cyl, you can probably swap in a caliber SRT 2.4L engine, or an EVO 2.0L and it'll just work.


    Still.. the 3.8L v6 packs quite a punch.. 310hp is nothing to sneeze at.

    Why, oh why, don't they realize that they're diluting the Genesis sedan's brand image by tagging the Genesis name on a RWD Tiburon? I mean, they spend all this money on TV ads comparing the Genesis sedan to BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche, then go and throw the blasted name on a car that will be riced up and ragged out, flooding those seedy corner car lots where money laundering drug dealers peddle the kind of used and abused merchandise as middle-aged pimps who don't have the balls or muscle to strongarm the younger, prettier girls and are forced to take in the skanks nobody else wants.


    Hyundai, please fire your brand managers. Or at least send them to Detroit, where their ideas would be a step up from the status quo.

    I'll take the turbo 4-pot....if it's a solid bottom end 210 hp ought to be able to be massaged quite easily. And it's a decent looking RWD sports car, what more can you ask for?

    @bluecoupe: It's better than Nissan's Sentra Spec V, for sure. If it's got a hefty iron block like a Saab 2.0T that 210 can be easily cranked up to 275 or even 320.


    Last time I checked the only really high output 2.0 turbo is the Evo; it does not get anything close to 30 mpg highway.
