2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe: The Epic Reveal, Live!

Wow. Ok, so we were pretty excited about the new 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but we had no idea just how awesome the reveal would be. None of that crap about pulling a sheet off a semi-functional prototype. No, these Hoondais were blatantly fully functional. That's thanks to either a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 making 223 HP, or a 3.8-liter V6 that pumps out 310 HP. Hyundai is promising that this will be the cheapest 300+ HP coupe in the world. Full press release after the jump.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe: A Mustang-Killer Revealed

So what's the one complaint most often levied against the Ford Mustang? How about the lack of Independent Rear Suspension? Guess what? The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe has it. Here's the rest of the details — 212 HP 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a range-topping all-aluminum 306 HP DOHC 3.8-liter V6 engine. It'll be available starting in the spring of 2009. We'll have many more details shortly and our full gallery of the event in a moment — but yes, it's just been revealed.

New Hyundai Genesis Coupe Caught at Marketing Meetup

So that's how they do it. Apparently, someone looking in on a Hyundai marketing presentation snapped some shots of the new, Tiburon-replacing Genesis Coupe Concept ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles show later this month. As we were made aware at the SEMA show last week, the prototype is built on the company's new rear-drive platform that will host the Genesis sedan. It'll get a 300-horsepower version of the company's 3.8-liter V6, which likely reflects the range topper among production models, which will be introduced at the New York auto show in 2008. As shown in these images, posted on New Tiburon Forums, the company's marketing minions are comparing it to Ford's Mustang, Honda's Civic Coupe and Mitsubishi's Eclipse. Now all it needs is that 350+hp V8 promised for the sedan and Hyundai's in the car business. [New Tiburon Forums via Motor Authority]

Are You The New Hyundai Tiburon?

The frog-like folks over at Caradisiac think they've got a sketch of the new Hyundai Tiburon. We're still not sure if this is an official shot liberated from Hyundai — so we're going to let you take a look at it and then take a look at the spy shots we've already shown, then let us know what you think. Hyundai confirms a RWD Tiburon replacement. Duh! We mean, why the heck would they have that test vehicle out like, everywhere? [Automotive News via Autoblog]

Hyundai Rear-Wheel Drive Coupe Spotted In Korea

New shots of the Hyundai RWD coupe we've already shown you have been shot tooling about somewhere 'round the Korean peninsula (we're assuming it's the South side). As we've told you before, Hyundai's been gearing up their new multi-use rear-wheel drive BH platform for combat, and the platform's going to be putting that "multi-use" term to good use. The Korean automaker's looking at bringing to market all sorts of stuff built atop it including a couple of luxe sedans, a crossover and yes, even a RWD coupe. So there ya go — this one's got a little less cladding on it. OK, maybe it's the same amount of cladding — maybe these ones are just a higher resolution. [via NewTiburon]

Spy Photos: Hyundai RWD Coupe Spotted...Somewhere

Hyundai's been gearing up their new multi-use rear-wheel drive BH platform for combat, and the platform's going to be putting that "multi-use" term to good use. The Korean automaker's looking at bringing to market all sorts of stuff built atop it including a couple of luxe sedans, a coupe and we're even hearing something about a truck (more on that rumor later today). Good thing they're teaching the salespeople how to sell these back-end bad boys. Well, it looks like someone caught the Tiburon-esque coupe in testing overseas and snapped some pictures of it in all of its potentially V8 Tau-powered hotness. Take a gander at it and let us know what you think in the comments below. More »

Spy Photos: More on the New Hyundai Tiburon

More shots of the slightly redesigned Hyundai Tiburon hit the blogospaz yesterday, reportedly by way of a commercial photo shoot breached by some digicam jockey. Somehow, it seems the big H didn't quite go far enough with the facelift. It's still got that ungainly profile, which can only be partially corrected in the aftermarket. We're still hoping for that twin-turbo 280 hp version. More »
