"Fabled tuner Hurst..." ?! As far as I know, Hurst has never been a tuner, just a vendor of shifters, and more recently, wheels. Yes, they have collaborated with Olds, AMC and Chrysler to make some mighty desirable rides, but the "tuning" on those vehicles was done by the manufacturer, not Hurst. That being said, I sure wouldn't kick a Hurst S/C Rambler out of my driveway for leaking oil...

Would the Hurst Olds 442's back in the 70's qualify as tuner vehicles?

@gdfowler: Not in my book. The early cars ('68-'69) were built by Oldsmobile, and shipped to a place called Demmer Engineering for the remainder of the Hurst components to be installed. The '72 and '73- up "Colonnade" models were "Developed" by Hurst Engineering, but were built by Olds. Other than shifters and badges, the cars seem to be made of off-the-shelf Olds parts, which may not have otherwise been available together in that model, but I would still hesitate to call it a "tuner" car.

How fitting, the roof is reminiscent of Linda Vaughn.
