For anybody who couldn't stand the reverse chronological order of the posts that rolled out with Jalopnik 2.0, now you can change it!

If you go to your profile, there should be three links next to your name. Click on Settings and you can choose default viewing method (Featured only or all) and the display order. Hallelujah! #cotomersevis

@Leeeeena the Jalopchick: Unfortunately, the system still seems to be buggy, and even though I have selected to view all comments starting with the oldest first, it's not happening. I'll just keep trying every day or so until it finally sticks, I guess. #cotomersevis

If I only had the time, this LandofMinos alter-ego of mine would offend, terrify, enrage and disgust many a reader/commenters well as offer proper insightful editorial as I've tried to in the past.

But lately work has made me scarce around these parts and I am from the land down under, where the beer does flow and the men chunder (vomit). Time difference is a bitch. #cotomersevis

Disappearing comments, broken hash tags, missing stars, all around quirky behavior... It'd be a shame if we held that against ya. It's a new roll-out, there's bound to be bugs, we'll get through this.

All that aside, the new updates are great!

Notifications, that's gonna save a lot of extra clicking around. It'll make my Jalop-time much more efficient.

Twitter style tagging, honestly I love it. Working as proposed I can see incredible potential there. After experiencing how that works I'm actually considering Facebook and Twitter... and that's saying something.

Forum pages where we're free to talk and discuss whatever we want... Maybe somebody was reading all those complaints after all.

The tips tag... it's already been used and we've already seen the results in the content. It's like this went from Coffee Talk (I'll give you a taaaw-pic...discuss.) to community.

Ray, I know you didn't put this all together your self. But you've obviously fought hard for what your readers wanted. You, the Jalopnik staff, and the Gawker hamsters have done a great job here. I think you've been greatly misunderstood lately, but these changes and your recent presence in the comments show that you're working hard, not just for you, but for all the people gathered in this little corner of the interwebs.

If you're truly taking all the comments to heart then take this to heart: You're doing a wonderful job, your efforts are paying off, and we greatly appreciate everything. #cotomersevis

Wow. I really don't know what to say, except for this: Thank you, Ray.

I can't even imagine what it took for you to get this change implemented. Thank you for the effort that it took. I appreciate it.

Not being too tech savvy myself, it may take me a few days to sort this out, but it will be well worth the effort.

Also, despite the naysayers, I also appreciate how much hell you went through to get the Lutz vs Siler showdown going. Thank you for that. #cotomersevis

Given measly distractions like work and kids and other hobbies, it'll take me a while to figure all the newness out and settle in but, given time for things to play out, just let me say "bravo" on the continued refinements and apparent willingness to listen. I stand corrected from opinions I've shared elsewhere. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction to recapture the "Essence of Jalop" I've heard tell was on the wane before I signed up. Thanks for paying attention to it...! #cotomersevis

You know, I feel that Jalopnik has gone through a change that I have had recently in my life as well. You see, my first car was a Jeep Cherokee. It was a 1991 and had a 3" Lift on it and 32x11.5 inch tires. You know, I loved that car. The funny thing was it was baby blue and looked so funny all jacked up. The car was great. It was quirky, strange and always made me smile, or even chuckle whenever I looked at it. Being that I decided not to go to college and instead get a job, it became clear that my 225k mile Jeep wouldn't really be able to handle a 25 mile each way commute, it wasn't economical enough, 9 mpg and all. So Cash for Clunkers rolled around, and as soulless as it made me feel, I dumped my beloved blue Jeep in favor of a Hyundai Sonata. I mean, I had to repair the Jeep to keep it going, and I didn't have the cash for it. So, now I have my Sonata which is reliable, gets decent mileage, comfortable and will run a long time. The car doesn't have a heart yet though. I mean, it makes sense, I got a brand new car for 12 grand with 10 year warranty and everything, but it's just not the Jeep. The Jeep had more personality than any car close to it, where the Sonata runs great and saves me money, it just is lacking character, it's not all that different than any other car. I promised myself that I'll get a Cherokee or Comanche, but I know it will never be the same. I think that Jalopnik has followed a similar process. They gave up the quirk and fun in order to make more money and are trying to get back to the fun and quirk with this new system, but we all know it'll never be the same. Just a thought. #cotomersevis

@Mobius: It's not really a sting, it's just what happened. It's near impossible to rekindle the original flame for anything, you can either hold on to it and keep it burning, putting all your energy and efforts into it, or you can change. People will either accept the new, or turn away saying, "Oh its not the same anymore". You could draw a comparision between Jalopnik and Pearl Jam for that matter, and Pearl Jam certainly out lasted their contemperaries even if they lost a large part of their original core demographic. They are going strong today and still remain one of my faveorites. Hey man, a full size sedan for 12 large was something I couldn't pass up. Plus the 10 year warranty means I'll have a DD for at least a decade so I can put my money in fun. #cotomersevis

    Okay, I'm impressed.

I'm not sure what the other Gawker sites made of the switch to their respective version 2.0s, but it seems that either the general sentiment here was shared elsewhere, or we Jalopnikers were vocal enough to warrant some pretty major changes. Like the original switch to 2.0, this is going to take some getting used to, but it seems like a real effort to bring people back to the fold and placate those who didn't like the last change. The streamlining of the site is nice too.

Time will tell how this works out, and I'm sure there will be more updates down the road, but I applaud the changes you've made and the way you've listened to the wishes and opinions of the commentariat. Ray, I'm sure that you spent a lot of time talking with the head honchos, so thank you for conveying our thoughts.

Now I'm just going to have to figure out what this Twitter-like business is and how it works, and I'm good to go! #cotomersevis

@Leeeeena the Jalopchick: Thanks. I hope everyone realizes that I read almost all the comments and really do take them to heart. I knew y'all wanted changes and we tried to advocate for those changes.

I want Jalopnik to always be a special place for our commenters and I think this revision helps to make it more special than before. The power is in all of your hands now, so use it.

Just try not to abuse it. Unless it's really funny. Then abuse the hell out of it. #cotomersevis

Just the other day, I was saying to myself "Self, wouldn't it be neat if Jalopnik had some sort of forum where people can post about stuff outside of site articles - so there's no drama about a post being off topic and such". And now look what happened! I'm going to stop thinking. #cotomersevis
