What does a GM sports hatchback created with Fiat (above) have in common with a Malaysian Proton sports hatchback created with Lotus (below)? Let's see, they're both small as elves and — when they go into production — will compete in the world's competitive hot-hatchback market. Judging from the
spy photos, the Proton will get a turbocharger and intercooler, while the Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa's top-range OPC (VXR) model is expected to have in the range of 180hp. Both will compete with the VW Polo GTI and Renaultsport Clio, with supermini handling performance to match their tweaked-out powerplants. Will this segment make it to the US?
