This reminds me of an old parody that I have out of some sort of Cracked/Mad-esqe magazine from the early 80s. It was a spoof of Honda call Honka. It stead of "We make it simple" It was "We make it shrimpy" It had a picture of a CVCC/Z600 type car with only one axle in the middle. I really need to scan that in.

I saw one very similar to that a few months back at a micro car show in KC. Local guy built it. He owned both these Honda 600s (I parked next to him in my '86 Spyder)

I'd love to have a little Honda 600, but not for that price, and most certainly not after someone has torn it's roof off! Unless you get excited about planes arriving on your Fantasy Island, I think this is a crackpipe.

A Honda 600 in its original state isn't much of a car. This customization definitely added value. Is it worth $16,500? Well . . . . probably not, but it's worth more than it was.

Looks solidly in crack pipe territory to me. For that price it should have an operational top and side curtains at the very least. And it looks kind of stupid frankly. Ooh, a new 20 mm carb and a battery - that makes it worth more...

In a sort of creepy yet related thought, did anyone else ever see the HBO episode of Real Sex or some such thing with the clowns? It was bizarre. There was a clown orgy (I'm not kidding). And I distinctly remember one saying she like to put her ass in cake and that she didn't get invited to a lot of birthday parties any more.

An eggshell is a remarkably strong thing considering its thinness and brittle, inflexible material. Now cut the shell in half and what happens? Most of the strength is lost. What happens when you cut up a tiny unitized coupe? Did the person who created this admittedly cute and tidy-looking kart beef up the underpinnings after chopping the top and a fair hunk of wheelbase? Maybe those high sills add some strength, but is the hood simply not completely latched down or does it really fit that badly? Those seats look none too comfortable, and I bet the intrusion of the rear wheel arches makes for an awkward driving position.

Too many ifs, too many questions, too much money - crack pipe.

There's a guy in North Carolina who is really into these little old Hondas. He's a genius at fixing them. He carries parts, offers maintenance wisdom, the works. And when he sells one of his nicely resto'd AZ600s, he asks around $6500 - $7500 for it. And it's a great deal for a really sweet little car that's been lovingly brought back to useful life.

The example before us appears to have gotten the same treatment. And yet...and yet, approximately half of the car seems to be missing. So I would peg the market value at about $3500. Half price, for half a car.
