@☠Grяrяrяrяrя sings the doom song now!: To be honest this stems from the fact that the US Accord and European Accord hasn't been the same car in over a decade. In fact the US Accord is sold elsewhere as the Inspire now after the Inspire ceased to follow the design of the TL and it has no Wagon variant that I know of. Oddly now the TL is based off of the TSX and JDM Accord. It's very confusing and makes no sense and it would be great if they merged the range again but that is not happening any time soon.

Yet another great diesel we won't see here in the US. Geez, who wouldn't want a torquey 53mpg car?

@Turbineguy: Most average Americans (and once again, that excludes the rabid car enthusiast like the ones that populate car blogs) could care less about diesels, because they equate them with slow, smelly, and dirty trucks. Whatever momentum they had in the early 80's, it was quickly snuffed out by the GM Diesels.

One other thing, it is fairly difficult to get diesels to pass our emission standards because our standards favor lower NOx emissions, while Europe and Japan tend to control C02. NOx is very difficult to control in Diesels without some sort of after-washing system, and still get the same efficiency.

Perhaps my old eyes are failing me or that picture is not of a 5 door Civic.

@dancote: They are failing, the rear door line falls above the wheel well and the rear door handle is hidden in the blacked out c-pillar triangle.

And not a hint of the dreaded Acura Face syndrome. The pendulum has swung, and Honda's figured out that there's money to be made from and infinite, Scion-like, options list.

even if their 200hp engine was in it it wouldn't be 'sporty'. that is one slow naturally aspirated POS.

@heimbachae: Friend, the i-CTDi far from slow, it's a torquey little rocket that we managed to get 72 MPG in. Something tells me you've never been in one of these cars.
