    I was at a DE recently and OnStar called a guy in his Cobalt SS for the same reason. The person asked if he was having an emergency and needed assistance. I can't believe onstar can just pipe into your car with your pressing any button. #hennessey

    To be fair, it makes sense. It's easy to make fun of, but this is what OnStar is for. One of the car magazines had OnStar go off after a slalom test in a Malibu a few years ago, too.

    Look at it this way. To the computer reporting to headquarters:
    1: The car briefly saw forward acceleration of nearly 1g.
    2: The throttle was wide open and remained so as the car reached 130.

    The stock car would be short of that level of acceleration, so the unmodified OnStar saw a slow rear end collision followed by a seriously rushed downhill escape. Besides a crash, it sounds as if they might be about to get robbed or something. On paper, this absolutely looks like something that needs looking into.

    If the car is capable of things that look like that to a computer, that's amazing. #hennessey

    "If this car has been stolen, you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law...and then debriefed as to how you got this vehicle moving so quickly.
    "By the way, that was awesome." #hennessey

    @beercheck: According to Top Gear, the GT-R actually turns its speed limiter off when its GPS determines it is "on-track"? Could do the same thing with On-Star. I see the warranty problems, however... #hennessey
