Looks like a fun time. I can see Toyota 2000GTs, Skylines, and Z-cars being classics, but who would have thought in the '70s that Corona coupes, Datsun 1200s, and Cressidas would ever be considered collectible? Then again, the same argument applies to Novas, Granadas, and Dusters.

@tonyola: don't forget the Datsun 510 who got it share of fans as well ;-)

@stephdumas: That's true, but the 510 was recognized right from the start as something of a sports sedan, and it has always kept that reputation. No-one ever called a Corona, Cressida, or Datsun 1200 sporty or even interesting - until recently, it seems.

At one time groundbreaking and original, sequels to the original Friday the 13th were made long after they were interesting or entertaining, ultimately becoming a parody of themselves. Avanti - ditto.Got it in one take. #hemmingsautoblogs

This looks like an interesting project. Why was I not informed earlier?

@Mike the Dog: I agree. At a glance, I think the only thing cooler is if the whole thing was up on Eagle SX/4 suspension/axles.

@Paul Y. don't drive too fast.: Good thought. Except you'd have to modify the fender flares to account for the slight lift.

@CptSevere: Not necessarily. I've seen a few Eagles with the flares removed and larger tires fitted to fill the visual gap. It works just fine.
